How should I finish this..

Well this weekend was a lot of welding, cutting, grinding ect.. I cut off my rear bumper and cut off the rear cross member down the the frame ends.

I was planning on just slapping a chuck of 2"x4" rectangular tubing, welding it to the frame and calling it good.

I definitely want a receiver hitch so that will be put inside the cross member.

But I dont know if that's what I want to do.

Idea's welcomed..

does the back swing/open up?

were's ur spair usually fit?or do u just leave at the trailer!

Put a slight chamfer or notch/bend to the rec. tube at the ends with the hitch in the middle, like this.

That way it kinda breaks up the boxy look...

Edit: to finish it off, you could plate the top as a place to step/stand/jump and do air kicks from.

I think I'd use the 2x4 and notch it so it caps your frame ends and has a solid weld to the inner frame. Cut a 2" square in the 2x4 and run the receiver stock through the middle.

i would use some 2x6 treated and mount it with self tappers. Its just a jeep.

I know my art works not the best but if iam on a long journy in the hilzs I would do something like this just an idea take it from there the "yellow" is were hinges should be with a swing to it just what I came up with.got the tire swing/gas tank etc ,I DONT KNOW HOW UR CAGE TIES IN.have some kind of latch system hooked to it all for places besides tahuya ,iam sure sumone can come up with better system of were the hinges /extra **** to hook too,don't critizize just make it better then what I painted:haha:ive had a few too:beer::beer:

put a extra hub assembly were ur tire bolts too with extra wheel bearings,spindle,lug nuts,etc.spair thats a 5 min paint job:alcoholic:

I was thinking along those lines

For the record. I 99% of the time dont carry a spare. If I ever do carry a spare I will build a tire rack like poison spiders

I agree, this is what i would do.
