I walked up on a 2x3 bull, that was bedded, opening morning, he was with a bigger bull, but couldn't get a shot off so I passed on the smaller bull, and then didn't see another elk for the next 6 days, goin to a different area this weekend, a mild fall kept them high and spread out, only talked to a few people that got theirs.

just got back elk hunting and didnt see any hair at all, nothing but poo and tracks for me. but then driving home see a 5x5 bull right off the road but i was going 70 mph :mad::mad:

Went duck hunting yesterday on JBLM and got skunked. They guy I was with got one and we did not have many ducks in range to shoot, hell we did not see many ducks at all, teh weather really needs to change to get them moving, its just to nice out there.

It's not that I did not have my opertunity, i justt missed two different ducks.
One was coming from my right to the left, in flight, started to slow and I took a shot, but missed. Then it turned towards me.I shot again and missed. Then it veried right to me abot 50yards out, his head was down and i took a shot and missed again. It rurned an flew off laughing his ass off at me. :mad:

It was a really funny sequence of advents, and we were laughing our ass off for it :haha::haha::haha::haha:

Next time, daffy is mine..................

Bump for Zukkev.:corn::fawkdancesmiley:

Still waiting Kev.................

Alright, ALRIGHT!!!:fawkdancesmiley:
No celebration is in order, but the sequence of events was funny!
Myself and several others in our group were working an area in the Nile on tuesday morning. George and myself came in on either end of a large knob into some thickass timber, working down...I came onto a virtual highway where the elk run up & down. George was down lower working his way across on another trail, when we got within eyeshot of each other. We radio'd to meet at the bottom of the knob...30 minutes later we meet up, and layed our rifles against two trees behind us to rest, and were whispering back and forth about our plan of attack from there...suddenly george heard a crack from my left/his right, which caught my attention...I turned my eyes only to see a really nice 4 or 5 pt (again thick timber..) stand up....about 70 yds away!!! Imagine trying to grab your rifle behind you without actually turning around, so as not to spook the elk!:haha::mad: I gave in, and turned for my rifle, which promptly spooked him, sending him up hill at a full run thru the thick ****---I had enough time to get his ass end in the sights, but not enough time to pull the trigger....never saw him again...:booo: And that's it fellas!

Oh, and did anyone on here that hunted over there happen across a red YJ or an XJ sporting hot pink panties on the front???:corn::haha:

Just got back from Springdale. Saw a buck and let the ol' man have first crack at it and he missed. That will be the last time he shoots first. Lots of nice moose around.

It's nearly upon us again. (Already gone for the arrow flingers). What are your plans, show us your success and pics of camp/the hunt.
