Hydro and Orbitals....

I've got the S&N kit on my toy axle and it works well. Set the ram up as my steering stops so as to not to oversteer the knuckles. Used a modded toy pump for a while with a big ol tranny cooler and it was ok. Only burped fluild once and a while using the toy res. I've now gone to a dodge saginaw pump un modded and it's mucho better(still have the tranny cooler with the toy res as well).

A single ender is no problem on a toy axle, Just make sure its limited so it doesnt rip the arms off the knuckle and make sure you have a reservior big enuf to hold all the fluid displaced from the ram and a good cooler.

Surplus center has a double ended ram for $200 that alot of people run.

I was just looking at those.

So $200 for a double ram, how much do the orbital's run??

$500 for S-N's orbital and single ram... so would that make the orbital $300-$400??

Single ram or Double Ram?? What are people's thought. Seems the double ram would allow symmetrical steering, and elimination of the tie-rod (less parts to build/buy) but you have the ends and clevises. But a single rod is cheaper than a double-ender.

I actually kind of like Binder's dual-single rams... a bit of redundancy that I know he has used in the past... not as sexy but more common parts.

So single or double or redundant? For those of you running single rams, do you wish, or if you could (money, space whatever) would your prefer a double? Those running doubles, can you compare it to a single??

Lots of question I know, but it would be nice to do it right, with just the right amount of *bling* :redneck:

Yes with a double ram you will have equal turns lock to lock. You will also have no tie rod. One and only down side is mounting it to the front diff (and for some thats not even an issue)
