So after winning the Alloy axles at Joe's benefit BBQ for a Dana 44. I had a mission...and after I have been seeing all of these budget builds that everyone talks about. I decided to do a real budget build, on a real budget. I sold my Dana 30 (ARB,4.88's,Compressor, new joints, etc..) for $1100. So that was my budget. I'll keep all prices confidental. But here's the specs:
Drivers Low pinion Dana 44
new Alloy USA U-joints and shafts
new Solid diff guard
refurbished Detroit locker
new Precision 4.88 gears
Chevy spindles
New Chevy caliper's
New Chevy brake lines
New Ceramic pads
Ford Bronco Hubs
Ford rotors
New Warn premium hubs
2 New black rock crawler wheels, No deal there damn they've gone up in price.
I was in budget until I just had to get my drive shaft shortened. But I recoupe the cost by selling my old wheels. So I am only -$65
But for $65 out of my pocket I scored a pretty decent Dana 44.
Now hows that for a budget build?
