I want to see Dave Reese roll down cream puff at Harlan

Re: I was to see Dave Reese roll down cream puff at Harlan

After that day I became more aware of where I'm standing and what could go wrong. The last two times I went to Harlan I broke before I gave it a try. I want to save it for the end because I don't want to break too early but I keep not running it at all. :dunno:

Yup, I've spent years dodging rigs. You never know where one is gonna go, especially now a days when everything is hit with speed and rigs can take one bounce and land 15' away. :o The dangerous places are always the best angle for photos though, I don't push my luck as much as I used to and my shots are suffering. Even still though I have close calls, nearly got run over by Rosco (branik racer) running FLAT OUT at XRRA this weekend. It's part of it though.

the think you need to think about in that post is the measurement. make it 40'. I know for a fact I have bounced, rolled and end over ended and have gone 40' in a matter of about 1.5-2 seconds.

I get close but try to have a tree of some other escape route planned out just in case...

Although even being "not close" sometimes turns into to damn close, like when Heath about took 3 of us out at MMORV laughing1

Tell me more. Half the time I come home and my pictures make steep hills look flat and big rocks look small. How do you choose your angles?

Low to the ground, close to, but not under the tire.

Yup, like John said. Usually on climbs I like the front corner low angle, or VERY low angle from the rear corner. The rear low corner usually gives great perspective but is not very safe. Of course it all depends on the obstacle and there are little tricks that I'd like to keep to myself as well. laughing1

Keep in mind I was shooting with the lense at 18mm. (to you non photogeeks, that means I was really close)

There's an entire path of trees gone from Cream puff down to the bottom, looks like lots have rolled there in the last few months. It's more fun in the wee hours of the morning when everyone camping at the top wakes to the sound of rev limiters coming toward them.

was amy driving?
Funny you should ask...I've been getting a bug to sell my buggy after hers is built and do some more passenger seat riding myself. She's probably a better driver anyway, much more patient.

Here's a plan.

Step 1) We trade buggies straight up
Step 2) Your new buggy breaks all the time
Step 3) You end up in Amy's passenger seat

It's perfect! loller.gif

Are you still up for the Hammers trip? Plus you can't sell it till I get a chance to put my buggy up against yours. :flipoff1:

October 1st till :dunno: Still going to use your truck and you fly out?
Or we can roll out in my truck with its new powerplant. But we'll have to find a bigger trailer.
