To me it don't matter. It just gives people something to bitch about. It he had of waited on them to right the 52 team then they would have bitched because he held the other guys up. If he had moved out of the way the teams behind would have/ might have done the damage instead of Shannon. Its over and done with. The only way to make it right would be sure that it don't happen from now one. Hind sight is always 20/20

Honestly it all got blown out of perportion. I would not say Will bitched about it though. When we talked to him on the radio he was laughing saying that shannon just ran his ass over. It wasnt till he got back and realized that he was DQ'ed that he asked Jeff about it. Everyone on pirate does need something to bitch about though and unfortunatly it put Will and Shannon both in the wrong light. I know we all have tried to stay out of the bullshit. It is what it is

Drama keeps old hearts running.I heard the same about the spot but only one shock.Also heard he had the valves turned out.First lesson in rubbin,i mean racin.Maybe nothing but good will come from it all.

I guess it will be clarified better next year, who knows. The last thing i want is a huge rule book. Its awesome what everyone brings to this race and I hope it continues to stay the same. I know i will be looking for a spot next year again for sure. We all had a blast.

In a sport where thinking outside the box can typically get you ahead of the game a thick rulebook is just not needed. Even some of the tech rules were stupid this year (i.e. Ball Valves). But outlining the rules of competition do need to be addressed. Just like in any other form of motorsports, a racer dq'd during an event is done...off the track/course etc. Thats how it should have been handled no matter what the driver's name or sponsor dollars are. It sucks what happened to Will but in the end he was made whole and I'm sure all the DQ questions that arose during this year's event won't happen again.

It would really be no different than someone riding up on your tires at a park. But the big blow is that Shannon had already been DQ'd . looks like the buggy behind him did the same thing and he didn't catch all the hell like Shannon has..... Give it a break...

The buggy behind Shannon wasn't DQ'd............If the roles were reversed what do you think would be said about it then? Hell, why not pull up beside someone out int he desert and just hang a hard turn right into the side of them to make a pass...what's the difference?

Exactley what I was thinking. Also if he and the other driver was DQ'd, why where they in such a hurry to get around. The race for the fastest DQ'd person I guess.

I thought the driver was already out and working on his rig. That must have been a different rig I read that about. DQ'd or not if driver was still in the rig this is no good.
Why was he trying to get good time? Anyone have a clue other than to show out for the sponsors?
