Impact gun

Ive had the orig composite impact(IR2131) for over 10 years. Still works awesome and is never cold when ya pick it up..Ive been checking out the new titaniums but why?? mine still works perfect

I had several cheap impacts and they were crap. Then I bought the Habor Freight 1/2" "Earthquake" gun. I been really impressed with it. It's rated at 650 ft/lb's of torque. I don't know if it really that strong, but it been way more than I ever needed to do any project. I have stripped many a hole or bolt with it because of it being to strong. I have no complaints about it. I got it on sale for $ 79 bucks. Money well spent.

My Mac AW5500 is pretty much the man. Havent found a crush sleeve that it won't crush. Supposedly it's the toughest on the market. For the $379? I spent on it, it better be.

air tools/ 18v rechageable tools

As a mechanic I have used IR for years ...I have a variety of air tools from IR, MAC, Matco, Snap~on....etc.

My favs are IR...I worked with a guy who has a protoype IR231 from 1966 and still going...that's tough stuff!

The IR or Mac composites are really light/quiet and can hit plenty hard.
I recently purchased a MAC 1/2" DR. composite gun tha hits @ over 900ft lbs.!!! I pulled the budd nuts off a heavy truck with it !!!

As far as the field an air compressor just isn't an option when wheelin' so I have an 18v Snap~on 1/2dr impact, flexhead flashlight, reversible drill. I crew for a Primitive Racing(rally) and these are essential tools.

How to you like your 18v 1/2" Cordless impact? Will it bust off lug nuts? I was thinking of buying one to have in the back of the jeep. I've got a 3/8" snapon cordless impact and its worked out great but I want soemthing a little bigger now.

???? well, I may not have a lot of air for an impact gun, but an OBA setup with a york and a 2.5 gallon tank will provide enough air to knock the bolts of wheels and usually what you need to get done. Set the hand throttle so the engine revs at 2K and it'll usually get the job done.
