So I have not discussed it in a while, because I am sure everybody is tired of it but I have to vent. Seriously what is the deal? How hard is it to make beadlock wheels? I ordered the WE replacements 5 WEEKS ago. I called today and WE has not even machined them yet because they are waiting on Shaeffer's to send a confirmation back on the specs before they can build them. Are you kidding me? I like Mike, but the service, or lack their of I have recieved from him leaves a little to be desired. I can't even get him to answer the phone. So here I am, wheeless for 2 months and no end in sight.

So I ask you can anybody recommend a manufacturer to me that can get me a set of locks in 2 weeks? Maybe a vendor or a person that has some 8 lugs 17's on hand? This is killing me.

buy some stauns and some cheapo aluminum wheels....bingo....

i am liking steel wheels more and more....i keep hearing about issues with wheels that are aluminum (forged or cast)

There have been alot of threads about shaffers and their shitty service. They get deleted on pirate pretty fast. Generaly it's the same thing:

"I ordered (blank) 4 weeks ago from shaffers, I have not got my stuff, I call/email everyday, nobody answers or they give me BS promises, more weeks go by, it may or may not show up"

I know 3 or 4 people here in NC with the same story.

**** shaffers.

matt, i have a guy that sells the walkers....you want me to see if he can hook you up with them? fuggit...i will call him in the AM for you.....

Yeah that would be good Louis, anthing will help. Know any vendors for TR or Allied? I wish I knew this about Shaeffer's before I ordered, but know that I think about it all my orders have been fawked up by them. I plan to check my options in the AM and if nothing else I will dispute the order since I put it on AmEx. They are good about that. Live and learn, cheaper is not always the best option

Matt, I ordered a seat from Shaffers January 24. It was supposed to be delivered in 2 weeks. 2 weeks passed and no seat. I called and Mike said it should be delivered in a day or two. A few more days passed, still no seat. I called Make again, he said he was going to call PRP and check the status. A couple more days passed, still no seat so I called him back. Mike said, PRP told me the seat shipped and I should have it within a couple of days. A couple of days later, still no seat. I am pissed so I call PRP to see what the problem is. They tell me that Mike has never placed the order. I called Mike and told him what PRP said and he was speechless. He gave me some BS about order placement on the internet. He finally called and placed the order and I received my seat yesterday. 7 short weeks later.

David, that is basically what has happened to me know also. They have not even begun to make my order, so I am calling tommorrow to cancel and if he gives me lip then I will just notify AmEx and have them deal with him. How can you stay in business by not placing orders for customers?

I am going with some cheap al wheels from 4wd Parts and some Stauns. Fawk those custom made wheel ****, I don't care that much anymore.

They charged you 5 weeks ago and didn't have the product? If so that's REAL shitty IMO.

I feel for ya Matt. All you wanted was some more bling and it has turned into this mess. I'll steal a set of interlocks from Travis this weekend in Disney for ya. molaugh

Yeah Bones, 5 weeks ago I got charged. Great service huh :flipoff1:

Hey Travis can the interlocks be shipped ASAP for a 17" wheel? I looked through your writeup and it looks complicated ss ****. I don't have a tire machine and it looks like an extra set of hands is a must. PM me what you can do on a price shipped to Bham and when they could get here.

Get ready to see pieces of AL on the ground where your jeep has been.

If you're hard pressed for some beadlocks, Chris can cut some rings at the WRF shop for you and ship them to you. Of course, you'd have to have a set of steel wheels to use, but they are easy to come by and cheap, and you'd have to weld them on, but again, that's not too difficult either. Best way to contact him would be by cell, Ill pm his number.

I wish you could of heard the message Mike left me, it was the sound of total confusion. He is saying that WE just faxed over the confirmation today for the wheels and they have been sitting on it after he placed the phone order for them 5 weeks ago. Don't know or really care at this point, because the service from both have been terrible. Guess I will sort it out tommorrow.

Thanks for the offer Chip, I will think about it

Throw out a pleas for some 8 lug 17" wheels on Pirate. Just throw it out there and see if any vendor has any on the shelf. Normally that is a BS post, but if you back it up with the short version of your story leaving out the names, then it is legit.

Just a thought.

Have you tried Bent and Twisted? I have heard awesome things about the Spider locks....

I ordered my HD cast TRs from Matt at Independent4x4 in VA, had them in less than 2 weeks, that was with them machining bolt pattern and backspacing, and shipping from WA state. No complaints at all. I ran into the same problem with trying to find someone that had 17" 8 lug alum. locks in stock.

Spider locks are KMC no? That's a step back as far as Matt is concerned

According to Mike at B and TF, he sent back a set of poor KMCs and the Spiderlocks are all coming out nicely.
