Sheeesh... seriously Im not the first person in the world to want to put a externally balanced engine in front of an UltraBell am I ? No were in any of there fuggin paperwork does it say anything about flexplates, but here I am pushing pryin wonderin WTF the engine and tranny dont wanna "pin up" I had the Capn with me tryin to do it in the semi dark and I was getting frustrated so walked away had a beers and ate some good food. Get up this AM, run to the dump, get my Rockstar and all that , Come to the house ready to do this alone and I look see DUH... there is no way a 168 tooth external balance flexplate is gonna just slide in the UltraBell. Fugger is obviously designed around 153 tooth internal balance motors..

So does a small tooth external balance flexplate exist ?? First glance at Summit says no. Great laughing1

Anybody wanna buy a UltraBell TH350 with a TCI Full manual valve body ? I just want to wheel this money pit Ill put a stock as **** TH350 in the sum bitch if it gets it back together....

OK Im frustrated..... :flipoff1: laughing1

Google searchin and my limited knowledge on the matter is leading me to believe that Im **** outta luck on the flexplate thing...

Unless someone makes a small tooth for a 1pc rear main engine , the only real option I see is to have this Ultrabell milled out to accept the 168 tooth flexplate. :'(

I've got rear seats.... :drinkers:

Your buggy makes a better dart throwing prop and conversation piece anyway... :flipoff1:

all I can think is custom. get an old school little guy, cut the ring off, cut yours down to fit it, most likely in a lathe, line up, check for concentricity, runout and trueness and weld the two togehter. after that, weld the external balance weight back on where it was, just a wee bit further in. won't take much. afternoon with neal or greg would have it done. not that I'm volunteering anyone :fish:
yeah, I'll trade you 2 working 350 stock trannies for that one. just need to get em to ya :fish:

Tlked to him tday n he was mowing grass then headed to matt o's..
So I imagine no progress...

Yea, I walked ( oh wait this is P..... ) I walked away from it and drank the beers, and mowed the lawn. I havent decided what Im gonna do.

Lookin with tape measure I think I can take apprx 1/16 outta the Ultra and make this thing sliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide on in there with some spit and K-Y 4 Her...

I dont know... Im gonna ride ATV's tommorow drink excessively and give 2 shits about it 2-mor-O

Let me help you out.
So I got to paint the trusses right , went to the paint store bought a gallon primer gallon paint on Friday. Loaded up the trusses, took them to my shop to paint, hopefully get done in about hour maybe two. Took about an hour for setup with saw horses and trusses spread out on them. Then I start setting up a table to mix paint and set up my paint gun. Set the paint on top of the trash can, went into shop and heard something fall outside. I figured the worst so I took my time getting back out to the noise and sure nough the paint fell of and hit the ground and all the primer spilled. Went all over my hose and so I get primer all on my person while spraying. So I start painting and the paint just want cover up so it takes more than I expect and of course I run out. I have three trusse painted and about half left to paint(4). No automotive paint stores open on saturday at 7:00 so I go to Lowes by some paint and a brush. I now can look forward to painting trusses on Sunday to. More than likely I will finish them up Monday morning.
On a positive note I got the hood side bars bent and tacked into place and my double ended ram mount for the front bent and ready to go. Plus all the old shock mounts on my axle cut off. I'm a grinding mofo.

I've pretty much decided to take the UltraBell off and "clearance" it to accept the flexplate. I think there is Plenty of material so it wouldnt be a structural issue at all. f it, thats a FREE way to make this work and we all know my sayin..

"If its free , its P " laughing1

So what do we think is the best method of doing this ?

Sanding drum is kinda what i was thinking...

You can somewhat see the machined surface in the area the flexplate should ride in this pic... the 1" ish shiney part on the underside of the the front of the bellhousing...

I dont think it will be to big of a deal to get it cleared out enough to make this work. I appreciate the offer though.

( I still have your shirts, when you gonna be through again ? or ups em ? )

wyatt on the dual pattern. I want that CAD file so I can put a 5.3 on the caddi trannies I got from you via an adapter/midplate :woody:

Ok, no prob. I have the adapter for the BOP engine to GM tanny, so you should be able to make that right? If they have both paterns it should work in the inverse. Its hanging on the wall in the shop.

I sent you a box today parcel post so be on the watch out at Merle's place.

Apparently Im a fuggin mo-ron. Took the UltraBell off and wihtout tranny got it to fit up to the back of the engine, the pin holes are REALLY tight so it takes some effort but it WILL go on and it DOES have clearance for the flexy plate. So no more drama there. Thank god, Id rather be wrong then have to go through the mill by hand BS I was thinking I was about to go through. Soccer season ended last night, so I finally got some week night time to get **** done. Plan to stick it in tonight ( going to get an engine leveler at lunch to help...)

The saga continues... Im re: todd id.
