Okay. Now that I have this circuit fingered out I think I have found out my problem.
Back when I wired up the tail lights, the turn signals did not work due to the funky switch. So I didn't worry about turn signals just brake and running lights.
I think what I did is wire both tail lights to the same light circuit. So when I use left turn, they both light up and when I use right turn neither lights up.
So I'm pretty sure my problem is in the wiring for the tail lights.
But now that the turn signal switch works properly, I have somewhere to start.
If only I had the color code / wiring diagram for the tail lights.
I'll keep you all posted.
