The Jeep has been sitting in garage for over 2 months now, tried to start it yesterday and both Optima batts were dead. I charged them just fine and the Jeep turns over but would not fire. I put new gas in it, nothing. I checked for fire, no fire to the coil, and no fire to eletric f/p. Guage cluster is not working. I check all the fuses and relays, all ok. I disconect the batts for over one hour to let ECU reset, nothing. I try to retrieve error codes and it will not give them to me. I am about to take it to the dealer to have a full dionostic done. Any ideas ? Any one have this happem to them ? Any help would be great !

Do any of the accessories work? Any of the ignition only accessories?
The radio works, the head lights work, turn/stop/tail lights work, hazord lights work, Eletric rad fan works, eletric st fluid fan works, all off road lighting works. Winch works, interiour lighting works, only thing I can find not working is no fire to the coil and no fire to the f/p. ?

There is a TSB regarding a poor connection on back of Instrument cluster; You said the cluster isn't working also? This may be a good area to start-remove cluster and check/tighten connectors; and retry...Also, smack the gas tank, as I had one with a bad fuel pump that sent me for a loop!!! For some reason if there was no pump operation, there was no spark from coil!!!! Put a new pump assy in it, It Fired Right Up!!!

Verify your Auto shut down relay( ASD relay )

It supplys power to your, Coil, Injectors, PCM, , HO2S's.

Your Fuel pump relay is supplied from a different source

Remember just because it is clicking, doesn't mean it is working.

Does the "check engine" light come on?Does the Digital odo light up when key is on? If not, I'd go for ASD relay......

By intuition and by your description, because all the regular electric functions, but not the electronics, I would say you hooked up, or charged the batterys backwards. Probably took out a fuseable link or a main fuse. (or worse)

Check your batterys with a voltmeter. red on poss and black on neg. Does it show proper voltage, or neg voltage?

No, I was very careful when I conected the charger, red to pos and black to neg. Evem placed the charger on the tire to isolate it. How ever I may have pulled a boner, I did not disconect the batss when I charged them, would that cause a problem ? Darn, I may have done this to myself ?

I don't see how the current from the charger is going to get to the components when the key is in the OFF position ....
