Job Thread

I interviewed with them a couple of years ago. I was offered less than I was making working part time at advance auto parts. :dunno:

Not to attack you, but what position did you apply for? WHY did they offer less pay than what advance auto pays? A guy who welds and fabricates is going to get more than a guy who runs a small forklift all day. I just don't understand why you wouldn't tell us what you applied for and what your experience was.
I'm just trying to pass along what I hear and see. If I NEEDED a job quickly, I'd take anything then continue to look for something else with more pay. I would also try to improve myself in my current position to move up or take a new position. I've heard a foot in the door can sometimes go a long way.

This thread needs to be about what YOU have to offer a perspective company and what qualifications you have to offer. You never know who might be looking, but if you have something to offer, POST UP!!!! I personally have helped others from this board get jobs in the past and will continue to do so. SELL yourself and be honest. :****:

Here's some of the stuff I've done. The green one not so much. But I left my job at GM to finish my degree but am still looking for work. I'm a good mechanic, fabricator, welder. I've done a little but of everything when it comes to vehicles. Farmed, landscaped.

Good start, but what kind of position would you be looking for? What part of those builds did you do? What's your degree in? thumb.gif

I did it all full frame off, motor, sand blasting, body work except for the paint on the gold one. I like about a year for my bachelors degree in plant and soil science. And I'm open for just about anything that isn't in a factory working for GM.

I'm currently working as a builder/fabricator/engineer at a automation/custom machine/test equipment/builder/system integrator.

I have a BSME plus I can do all the hands on fab, welding, and manual mill/lathe basics.

My last job (3.5 years) was a "Lubrication Engineer" (technical sales/mfg rep) for JAX INC, which is an industrial oil company that manufactures food grade lubricants, we supplied oil and grease to basically all major food manufacturers (Tyson Foods is their biggest account).

SO

BSME + Sales experience + hands on skills

I'd be interested in opportunities that have more room for growth (and financial gain of course)

My location and name is in my signature, but yeah, I'd be up to move. I'd prefer to stay in the area of the the triangle created by Nashville, Knoxville, and Birmingham. :dblthumb:

I have a BBA in Accounting. I've worked in accounting for 14 years and have pretty much covered all the aspects. Probably the only thing I don't have much experience in is Costing. I've worked in manufacturing, construction, government, and agriculture. I'm easily trainable on anything and have been in some form of customer service for 22 years now. I also dabble in some welding and fabrication so I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty by not sitting behind a desk.
