-Oh no I picked a side-
Duramax reman motor (from source) almost $10k for the motor and a $3800 core charge. Talk about crazy :eeek:
damn!
duramax owner > :5bitch: < GM
Oh well....
GM is going under anyway so it'll just go up in value.....:;
cause you're ****ed if you need a new duramax. its not like a regular old gas engine that you can get a reman from joe schmoes shop down the street for 1000 bucks. 10k is a lot of money just to get your truck going again if you happen to blow it up real good.
didnt mean that to come across like GM was taking advantage, just meant the owner is SOL and GM gets the big money for thier fancy engine.
out of curiosity, were you looking this up for a customer? and if so, what was the cause.
Gm will not go away. I am hoping it files bankruptcy though because its the only way for it to clean its books and become a stronger company.
It will become a much smaller company, too.

For the record since the motor was released, this is the 4th one I know of that has been replaced, one I saw blow up (WOT for 20 seconds and I mean WOT).
'WOT'? WTF is 'WOT'?
Wide Open Throttle.
Ahhh. Now that makes sense.
What doesn't make sense is why anyone would do that to any engine? I mean, even 1/4 milers only do it for 10 seconds or less, right?

And the motor, nor any of its parts come from GM, it comes from source which is "izuzu"....
Should see what the bill was on the 05' I had to put heads on recently :haha:
a cummins is rated to run agenst the govenor @ full load @ 100% duty cycle..... :fawkdancesmiley: but you knew that allready.....
The motor im my 05 d-max blew up with 65,000 miles on it about 6 month's ago and gm put a new motor in it "thank god" it was around $13,000 and i only paid $100 of it :awesomework:
