Why don't you let me know when you can jump in a gas powered anything with over 200k and tow a 12,000 lb load 75-80MPH across the US and make it.........my cummins did.:stirpot:

Scary .. especially anything american made... after 100k the rest of the truck starts to get loose and fall apart..

"Oh my---So thats what happenes with the pin comes out ?"
Actually it can be worse than that.
It can happen to 12's & 24's alike.
The odds may be less, but is it worth it?
If it happens to you, you will be :mad:
At yourself for not fixing it.
After I bought mine I brought it home and tore it down.

Your stoned if you believe that.:rolleyes:

It is very common on trucks as new as 2001. As for it not falling out in 250k, I would be more concerned about it with high miles.:;

Sorry not stoned, but thanks for the info :cool:

Seems rather silly to not spend $60 and few hours of labor to avoid a repair that can easilly exceed $2,000. But to each their own.

I've heard that if I have an '02, I don't need to worry about this... correct?
it's very rare. And up untill recently we thought 02's were safe. But we were proven wrong.

The tab is actually just a couple bucks. And it's easy to do yourself.

So is it safe to say that my 06 wont have a KDP problem?

well it definitely wasn't my idea.. I like it better then the tab though.. I have a bolt going across the dowel pin instead of a thin piece of sheetmetal. aka jig method.
