14 bolts are boat anchors unless you're running monster tires.

Yes 14 bolts have just about the lowest clearance out there. Unless you spend the time shaving them.
never. ive seen way to many broken ones to even think about doing so.Never had a problem with mine, and I beat it relentlessly

like i said above, i wouldnt run one if it was free. but..thats just me.
i gott a buddy with an 8.8 in his wrangler, with a v8/420 trans. he doesnt really wheel hard tho..or at all. :haha:
but seriously, ive seen way too many wasted 8.8's, in low-ish mileage daily drivers, to even consider running/abusing one offroad.

I had an 8.8 in my Jeep about 8 years ago, it worked fine with 35's & a 4.0L
wow i want bigger axels but i dont want to spend a lot of money wow there is no way to get around it your kinda stuck unless you do it all your self there is a good build thred here http://www.nw-wheelers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=32082 check it out thatz what you are going to want to do. mines getting a 302 5.0HO thats why i went with the axels that i did. and later when i break them i will upgrade the axel shafts and then it will be all good.

i read that thred the other day about yours cj.. i was just wondering if there was a rear 60 out there that was about 60 inches or if there was a 44 that would work and.with out cutting it ... that would be ideal right right now.. or a set of 44 front and rear i think would hold up for the time being... i wanna get it on the trail... and the axle that are in it are shot..
