Kingpin HP D60... yes you say?

Was that up in Twisp? I saw it on Craigslist... it was up by my parents place... good score!

Yep. Amazingly enough, the guy posted it on the 20th and it still wasn't sold. I sent him an e-mail just on a lark on Sunday and he replied back right away and said it was still for sale.

I shoulda offered him less since he was going to Alaska on saturday and needed it gone, but I figured it was a good deal already.

Pirate 60 bible says the other way around... diff is 3.5" closer to the driver's side knuckle on the 85-91.5 60's. The earlier ones have a spring pad span width of 31.5" and the laters are 36.5", but the WMS stays the same at 69.25". 92-99 Ford 60's are ball joint.

All this will be a moot point anyway, since I will most likely have it retubed to passenger drop and have it narrowed a few inches when I get ready to put it under the Jeep down the road.

knew it was one or the other, but i was wrong on which way it went.

Grrr... I shoulda known this was going to happen. DOL says this truck is worth fair market value of $4875, which means that even though I have a signed bill of sale stating I bought it for $750, the fair market value minus their standard $2000 is still $2875, which means I pay $260 something to transfer the title and register it... vs. $90 or so without. The guy I bought it from is gone to Alaska. :(

Maybe I can get the gal at the Leavenworth office to do it for me with the bill of sale.

Sign the form the DOL has which states there is something majorly wrong with the vehicle thus reducing it's value substantially. It's missing a front axle.

Right, but the *ahem* "seller" has to sign it too. :;

just go to a different DMV office... I have found that you can get alot of different **** done by carefully choosing which office you go to.

Matt,
You don't need the sellers signature. Go to shucks, napa, whatever and have them print you out a receipt for a new engine or trans. Just make sure the number on the receipt is greater than $2,875. Then, take it back to the DOL and tell them thats the reason you got the truck under their estimated value. There is something you have to sign when you do this but you don't need the sellers information at all. If they tell you this can't be done than go to a different DOL.
I just had this happen to me except the lady at the DOL here in Everett was very nice. Shes the one that told me to run down the street and get a receipt for a new engine and bring it back to them. They made a copy of it, had me sign a form saying the truck needed major repair, and bingo, done.
:beer:

Yeah, I took it to a different licensing office and got'er'done, the only problem was that the truck was owned by the dude's excavating company, not just him... and he didn't sign it as an officer for the company or something... they put it through anyway and said there's a good chance they won't catch it when they process it, so hopefully it'll work, since I don't have a way to get ahold of dude now.

Oh well, if I don't get the title for it... I have tags and registration saying it's in my name, so I can drive it for a year, then I'll part it out. :D
