Land Rover Discovery

I wheeled a 95' disco with a 5 speed for almost 4 years. Here is what to do. Swap the rear springs to the front. Buy some old man emu heavy's for the rear. Drill two holes on either side of the radius arm bushings. 14" travel rears, 2" over's in the front. Weld in spring retainers in the rear coil buckets. Make some 2" coil spacers. Weld the rear diff if this is play machine. The stock shafts are pretty tough. Otherwise put a ARB in the front and detroit in the rear. Rear shafts can be purchased from great basin rovers. Fronts from longfield. Some 4.7 diff gears help to. I ran 36" tsl and 35" mtr's with this setup for a few years. I did most of the trails in Moab, or Utah for that matter. I would love to build another one. Good times. If you buy a disco II make sure you buy a center diff lock or you have to put up with the slow computer trying to figure out what to do. If it were me I would buy a disco I. If you want any more info let me know. I still have a few hookups for Rover stuff.

Thanks Sam.

I like the idea if the Landcruiser but they're more $$$ than I'm willing to spend for a rig I'm going to destroy (and get bored of). In the used car market, a locker option FJ is few and far between.

I don't necessarily want a "capable" vehicle. I like the Disco cause it's cheap, different and will be a challenge to wheel.......where I want to take it. :redneck:

And if I get one.....you'll all know. :awesomework:

My dad is selling our 95. Its got a 5-speed, arb front, detroit rear, OME lift, and rover tym bumpers front and rear...

We wheel'd it a couple times and it did friggin excellent...

Let me know if your interested...

I do Love my RubyDoo very much and now she is a wheeler. I do not like putting dents in her but it happens and its a part of wheelin, Just ask Rhonda in her 08. Other than couple of not so smart monents, She has not had any breakage of a major kind. Yes i take off fender flairs and they go back on and keep going. But it is almost amazing what a couple of inches of lift and 35's will get you doing.
