I wheeled a 95' disco with a 5 speed for almost 4 years. Here is what to do. Swap the rear springs to the front. Buy some old man emu heavy's for the rear. Drill two holes on either side of the radius arm bushings. 14" travel rears, 2" over's in the front. Weld in spring retainers in the rear coil buckets. Make some 2" coil spacers. Weld the rear diff if this is play machine. The stock shafts are pretty tough. Otherwise put a ARB in the front and detroit in the rear. Rear shafts can be purchased from great basin rovers. Fronts from longfield. Some 4.7 diff gears help to. I ran 36" tsl and 35" mtr's with this setup for a few years. I did most of the trails in Moab, or Utah for that matter. I would love to build another one. Good times. If you buy a disco II make sure you buy a center diff lock or you have to put up with the slow computer trying to figure out what to do. If it were me I would buy a disco I. If you want any more info let me know. I still have a few hookups for Rover stuff.
