I am fixing my power steering and have come into a clearance issue with the upper radiator hose. My question is my radiator mounted in the right spot? Here is a pic of what I am talking about.

Is it suppose to be all the way up against the grill? I have the 2f engine. Thanks for any help.

Looks like someone moved your radiator back. It should sit up against the grill inside that big U shaped holder...not behind it. That would probably free up some space for your hose and pump.

On 2nd look that doesn't look like a stock radiator. I actually used to have an fj55 rad in mine...had to widen the U shaped bracket about 3 inches. Might be worth doing on yours to fit the bigger radiator.

I got an aluminum one from jegs for $169. Made some tabs to bolt it to the grill (like jeeps do :D ).

Its mostly a 74 :D
Everytime something needs to be fixed, upgraded etc, it loses more cruiser parts. It hasn't kept up with the truggy coil thingy trend but it works fine. I need to do a bit of work to it to get it back up to my standards and fix a few things that rimrock showed me needed attention.
If you wanna know where your rig is lacking...take it to rimrock!

It looks like a stock radiator to me - it's got the same little 'brackets' brazed on the ends of the upper tank.

Perhaps someone moved the radiator to the back side of the frame to compensate for the fact that your fan shroud is missing?

On my '73, I don't recall the cap being centered like that, should be to the passenger side. I bought an ugraded rad. from Cool Cruisers, slips right into that U-shape bracket.

I've never actually seen a stock rad with a centered cap...not saying it doesn't exist...just that I haven't seen it.:;

I finally got curious enough to go look... You're right - that's not stock. The little brackets I was looking at are different too. His looks quite a bit thicker as well so maybe it wouldn't fit in between the u-channel?
