I love my crew cab colorado. It's got 158,000 on the ticker and drives like new. They do have a terrible rep though and the mileage isn't any better than my duramax.
I love Rangers. Easy to work on, there's not really any big issues, other than the automatics, but that's nothing new...
They can be picky to lift and not eat tires, but if you do it right, tires are fine.
They can be had cheap, and fixed cheap too. The problem would be that Ford stopped making the 2.3 4cyl with 4wd, in 93 or 94 I believe. After that you get the 3.slow or 4.0l. As long as you keep oil and coolant in a 3.0l, it'll go forever.
