Longs?

27 is the stock spline count of the birf. so a bobby 27 spline is just a c.m. outer with your stock inner, and a 30 spline is bobbys upgraded inner and outer.
 
Go 30 spline and dont look back.

the only way I would go 27s is if that set on here is still around for $300.

Id kick him in the nuts at 250 and run em till your run out of inner shafts.
You can always sell them for what you paid.

If you look at them and it does not say "LONGFIELD", dont buyem.

Guys will say they have 27 spline longs, when in reality they have OLD stock treated birfs that bobby used to do way back. Bobby did those for 60 bucks each. So getting a set of old $120 treated stockers for $300 is no deal at all.

Look for the longfield and the shiny finnish. your good.

If it says LF and empi or aisin, stay away.:awesomework:
 
I have one 27 spline long with a stock driverside inner. You can have it for $60. Then you only gotta buy one. I beat the crap out of them. The only reason the other one broke was because my hub studs came loose. they will last as long as you don't run tires too big, and have your steering stops set correctly.:beer:
 
my buddy ran 27 longs with inner shafts for 3yrs with stock inners, he went to 30's after he broke one of the stock inners. His birf's held up just fine but for the money i would just get 30's and be done
 
I figurd the main diffrence was the strength. I have a guy offer to sell his and didnt know anything about the 27 spliners since everyone I know runs 30's

You don't HAVE to swap the gears Alan, the stockers will work....BUT if you don't buy the gears, and the stock gear breaks, stripping the stub splines---no warranty....
