Looking at buying a XJ.

So he got it. It seems to be mechanically sound (as an XJ can be) what are some suggestions for him from those of you that have been down the lonely XJ path?
What should he check before we go take it off sweet jumps?

Gas, oil, and coolant. As long as it has some of each it'll be fine.

Yeah, there's a lot of talk out there about the zinc content and making sure it has enough. I've found that they dont really care. My theory on oil is different than a lot of folks on the inner webs. I say buy the cheapest junk you can and change it more often. Dollar general carries oil.

I get new 15w40 for free from work when we change a 55gal drum I just save the 2 gal left in the drum

If it doesn't already have one get a steering brace as XJs love to tear the unitbody where the gear box bolts up, sometimes you'll even sheer the bolts.
