Anyone have any numbers for house rentals in Evarts, I can't get Lupe to answer his phone and the contacts I used before have sold out. Any help would be appreciated.

Pm shoope3 on here. He is a local and knows everybody up there. Search Harlan trail clean up and he posted his number there also.

The last two years I have gone to the NAXJA SEC chapter Cherokee Crawl I've stayed on the Putney side with everyone. It takes 10-15 minutes of going up the mountain to get to middle fork instead of how on Evarts you're just right there at so many different trails. The cabins and stuff are alright on Putney but the 10 mile drive to Baxter is annoying if you need/ want anything and the drive up the mountain is annoying too. I'd stay on the Evarts side of I get to go again this year or next.

Not saying anything bad about everts side at all, but you can't beat the store, air, pressure washer, welder, cabins etc at the Putney side, if you care about the 10 min ( I haul a##) then I don't get it. Go down to the everts side and ask for a welder, tool. Just saying, good luck

Thanks for the info, I usually stayed on the Evarts side in the past and have had no problems, although I do bring my own tools, parts, welder, torch, etc...

There is a guy on the way from the trail head that advertises welding. I've had to use his shop for a few hours before. Its not free, but it was cheap and I was able to keep wheeling.
I like Evarts alot more because its closer, has gas, food, grocery store, and alot more places to stay.

One of the biggest perks for Evarts is the gas. The biggest let down for Putney is that crappy ride across to the good side of the mountain.

Larry's Welding. He also rents the apartment above the welding shop to wheelers.

Was there last week and seen they are logging on the Putney side out on the campsite 3 flat, so maybe they will have a new road made in a little bit with all the property they have just got. Use the map but also ask at the office about new trails like Grasshopper there is lots of trails that is not on the map but it will get you around

I like to have a cold beer or 2 on the trail, no chance for a road block on the Putney side, and I know all the big rides, they have road blocks. Just my 02c. They are logging, the road is flat and smooth, I was running 40,45 mph last trip up it.
