I'll join in the 39 reds on mini trucks are fine argument. I'm running longs and 5.29s.mini front and taco rear. Both are welded. Never had a bit of a problem with them. Stock knuckles are the only thing I'm afraid of. Can't wait to get 6 shooters.

No one ever strips the R&P's in the back of cruisers. I even know folks WITH tacos that have 80-series rear axles under their rigs. I can not think of a single cruiser guy with a taco rear axle under their cruiser. But I'll let ya'll have it. I'll juss be over here wheeling on 39's...

True, true.

I guess I was thinking of direct/easy swap for a mini truck.

I actually have a 9.5 I'm going to swap in the Gremlin if gears become an issue.

I would agree... unless you already got all the pieces! Whachu see there was in a pile of spare crap. Just had to put it all together.
I don't wheel anymore anyway. i just cruise the food courts

I'm not exactly new to yotas it's where I started! Have had three of them actually! Tacoma extended cab cab truck with plated frame heavy as all get out on 38.5 sx's 3rz duelz stock and 4.7 4.10's hp fr 8.4 rear only thing I broke was front ds u joints and input shafts on rear case and one case failure oh and a taco housing!

Then there was the rock tractor same axles and trans tcase setup but with a gay ass 22r on pane on 39 irocks weighing in around 2700# broke one 30 spline long rear tcase input bent rear output travel issue!
Yea Toyota's are fun! They just don't go fast!

X2

Sometimes I ride all day in double low and never touch the gas...

A big part of wheeling for me is to feel like I'm NOT in a race, and to sit back and enjoy the scenery while trail riding between obstacles.
