Anybody have ideas where I can find one or know anybody that will make one for a decent price? I have a good wooden workbench but I am trying to corner off a section of the shop to do grinding and metal work. Wanted a good metal table I can mount a vice and table grinder too and put over there. Nothing huge or crazy stout, just a good metal table. Any ideas or good places to look?

MattO, I did my bench the cheap way. I went to Lowes and bought different size sheets of heavy guage metal and screwed it down to the wood. My wood bench was great, but I wanted a metal top for grinding and bangin on. Also put on metal corner beads to finish the edge. Just a cheapo way of fixin what wasn't broke, just betta. thumb.gif

Thanks Josh, I sent the guy an email to see if he still has it. If anybody knows a source or has one let me know

I got mine from a local auction. Its actually a transmission table but you could park a car on it. You not have a welder? Just build one.

I have access to a welder, but I really don't want to spend time building one. Figured it would be easier to find one for a decent price.

bought one off craigslist....with a vice mounted on it $20 The 80 year old lady may not have known what she had though. :****:

At my "for real" business type shop we have 5 benches about 8'x3' that are all wood, we had a piece of heavy gauge metal cut and broken to cover the tops. They still work great after 21 years. So there's another cheaper idea to an all metal table.

I am going to get one from the guy on Caos For Sale, pretty cheap for a decent table. It will work exactly for what I need!
