MMORV - ROCK RALLY '10... August 7th

I hated too miss the race, but I been too damn broke this summer ....only rode once since May ... :****:

I took my zuk out two weeks ago & it had cobwebs in it :wtflol:

Jimmy,
I will be open to a work weekend in July if that will help.
Can run a Backhoe/trackhoe or Ben's tractor if he isn't funny about that.
Definatly will take CUCV/dumptrailer service if needed.
I would skip the race and volunteer if it meant having the event but it looks likeJohn G and crew have raceday under control.
Plus I have to continue my record and become the only truck to finish 3 years in a row...
The economy has everybody down, but this race is a great way to blow off some steam, for most literally.
D

X3 me and my homies are only 45 minutes away from MM, we could DEF! help out the weekend before or whatever yall need to keep the race going

so is there anyone out there considering taking the torch from Jimmy and keeping the MM rockrally going this year? seems like it would be a better event for a good 4x4 club to organize and maybe raise money towards a charity or something. i know there are a LOT of people, both spectators and drivers alike who would like to see it keep going

What if this year you require everyone to preregister 6-8 weeks in advance. That way if someone doesn't show up at least you got paid and secondly if you don't get enough people registered just refund the money to whomever did register, cancel the race, and tell everyone to get ****ed.

man power is not the problem, nobody shows up...

Last year was just bad timing :****:
I know of 4 who didnt show b/c of the flood we where having Friday!!
Im shure other also know the same.
It always rains at mm but most dont want to race during it!
I was there and had a blast as co-driver b/c mine didnt get fixed in time.
Start a thread on who all is interested and see what kind of reply you get.
Last years course was better than before imo.
Also consider a side by side class to.
:driving: :woot: :woot: hitit

im not trying to talk anyone out of this, hell, i would like to race myself... but read back through the old threads and everyone was down, then it was forcast to rain and no one showed... how is that senario any different from what this year could be??? and we had a SxS class that we never got the first reply about...

bottom line, KOH sparks the RR frenzy and by the time its dry enough to race, nobody gives a **** anymore... wash, rinse, repeat

hey its lew from settc and im game to bring the yota buggy up there along with the litlle jeep. and MAYBE A RAZOR if the sxs class is still there

Yea .......and maybe move it out of the HOTTEST time of the year ........ that might help too :dunno:

and I don,t think we are all as BROKE as we were last year either :dunno:

:dunno:

If nobody wants to do it at Morris mountain, then somebody needs to talk to Keith Bailey about doing it at Grayrock.

or maybe at Mountainside, there's hardly any mud there, and it dries out in half a day after a rain so it could be held in late spring maybe?

Mountainside kinda needs a signature event, maybe Scott and Bob would be interested in organizing it?

I would imagine that most everyone involved with this race will be at the Shamrock run.
We should dedicate an hour one night to covering the logistics of the race and what it will take to make it happen.
I would like to race but also think that the guys that have dedicated themselves to the event the last years should have that same chance.
I find it interesting that the owner of the park, while active on this board ,has not chimed in to this post.
What gives?
Donnie

Randy only gets on here every now & then........he WILL chime in sooner or later :dblthumb:

we need to discuss it at shamrock , thats a good idea .

if Jimmy's daughter has him wrapped around her little finger as bad as mine does, then we just need for her to say to him "Daddy, i've had SO much fun at the MM rockralleys will you please, please, please do it again?" ;D
