Mountain Biking Thread

I heard there are a few little drops in the st. edwards park. and a few little bumps in the big finn, and i mean little, lol.

A couple years ago the wife and I stayed at Whistler over a weekend for our anniversary (Aug) when she was at the day spa I rented a guide and a bike, he took me all over that mountain we had a blast and then I came home and haven't touch a bike since...

The gondola ride up was the key selling point and if it doesn't have an engine it just isn't any fun:stirpot:

For all the years I've been doing this, I still haven't gotten my a$$ up to Whistler!! Just seem to find better things to spend money on, I guess....
You know how much I love the motorized two-wheel experience, but DH is deh bomb!! more trail space for me, then! :redneck:

Just to show my age...I remember riding downhill at Whistler before they had downhill bikes and events :redneck:

At the time you actually had to pay not only for the ride to the top put for a guided tour by one of their employees

Does the Summit at Snoqualmie still open during the summer for downhilling with the chair lifts?

:thud:

Not any more, thanks to the dirt-bag mtr community that refused to pay the lift ticket fees (cheaper that going to Whistler, dumb-dumbs!!). Snoqualmie was willing to just break even, but they lost too much $$ and shut it down.
Yeah, mountain-biker rebels, you really showed them!! :awesomework:
Geniuses!

(yes, I'm still sore about it, and it's been closed for years!)

At least they gave you a ride up....... old man :fawkdancesmiley:

Steven's pass might have one next year...:stirpot: :corn: :corn: :corn: It is in the works anyways...

It's BEEN in the works for years.....

But, it does sound like it's actually happening now. Sounds like it'll be open to Competition in '09, and "the rest of us" in '10 :looser:

HEY!! Any good riding lately?? I think I'm gonna fit it in this week, while the weather is sorta cooperating. I haven't been to Tiger allll summmmer!! It's not my favorite ride, but one you just gotta make yourself do once a year! :haha:

Dude!! You gonna go kill it?! :;
:D :D

I might ...if'n I had a 2 wheeler, I lost interest and lost interest. Although I watched a few "free riden" videos I had from the good ol days and had a little bit of a spark that you may call interest.:redneck:

Just teasin', seriously though, I know several folks involved, they're pretty stoked.....I suppose I oughta check it out.... Cool concept (unless you're "extreme".... )
:D :D

I was planning on taking the GF over there to get her a little more used to terrain and such. It is definitly a good spot for learning and the "phase 2" part is for the big boys....

Yeah, that's my understanding of it, too, it's a good "starter" area....still, I might have to bring the DH down there for a little spin.... I'm genuinely interested to see what's there. I could always use some skill building!! :awesomework:
