Deputy / EMT or more of a tech guy?

As far as heavy gear, I'd recommend pants or heavy duty cargo shorts over the spandex and such (if not just for our sake :D ), as well as padding if you have them. If you keep it in check, you'd do ok without, but there are plenty of semi tough terrain to fall on.

What you mean heavy gear, anyway?

I've used motocross gear for protection......if you're into dirt bikes, the equipment crosses over nicely. Yup, it's worth having chest protector, arm and shin guards if you got 'em....they've saved my ribs/limbs more than once! :awesomework:

You near Seattle? Join us tomorrow. There is some single track and other hardtail friendly stuff. In fact, I bet everything there can be ridden on a hardtail with some finesse.

Do bring the heaviest gear you have, the collateral when you fall is higher than most places.

For sure, def. plenty of stuff for the single track and hardtail. and yes, I brought my knee/shin guards for this afternoon, my cold "feels" a little better....so we shall see.....what better a way to cure the common cold than a nice afternoon of riding.:awesomework:

ya, crashing on some of the table tops would be the same as crashing on a cheese grater:

Imagine this:

Nice and sunny out over here in Seattle!

So I had a little time after work and I went to St. Ed's to get a little mojo flowin' and got totally dumped on............full on downpour.....:booo:
Way to harsh a girl's mellow............

........Hope Colannades was fun, and dry!

Dude, it was dry, sunny and warm in Seattle! Where were you?

Ok, so it was one of those, but perfect riding weather. The wood was just slippery enough to pucker your buttocks a bit. I rode a few things I had not before and failed at the goal of "riding everything". Yeah, I blame it on the sun, or lack thereoff.

Boonie rocked the spot and stepped up all over the place. There was virtually nothing he was not rolling or trying. Nice work Aaron!

P.S. Boonie, did you see that campfire the bums had lit across the way, Southward? We should have joined them and roasted some fatty dogs over the fire!

Thanks man! Ya yesterday was a good day! Even with a cold, I'm glad I (you:; ) still pushed me to do the larger drops. Those skinnies were pretty fun, for the 3 feet I stayed on:haha: You guys were killing it in the rainy sections:awesomework:

As far as "riding everything" yesterday was NOT the day to try man, there were a few things SOAKED in rain. I still wanna try the rainbow run (that's what i've dubbed it:redneck: ) But I wanna do it when i can dorp the first part....so it might be a while.....or i'll just skip the first drop and go anyways...:haha:

Good, I was hoping I was not getting carried away with my encouragement. Different people respond differently, either way, I was hoping for everyone to have a good time.

The Rainbow run is actually one of the easier jump lines, it only has two afterall. The transitions are also much bigger, which is actually easier in that your not at all riding quasi BMXish jumps like the other two lines. The entrance I think, is there just to scare you enough to avoid the line unless you have your confidence up. I bet the entrance "box" (the wooden thing you start on) was built when the "Rainbow" bridge was non-existent. If you flip through the early video's on Youtube, you will see that it was just a gap jump.

At first, I was pretty sketched at the though of wet wood over on the poorly copied "Slayers drop". turned out just fine. Maybe the wood is still new enough to not have the thin layer of algae snot that normally slickens things up. If I had any balls, I'd gap all the wood and land in the dirt, which is the entire idea of the drop. Edit: I'm just a pussyfooter. :redneck:

I am the king of ***** footing :fawkdancesmiley: :haha:

And no, I didn't see the bums, I wish I had now, that would have been a nice end to an awesome ride. Warm up by the fire with smelly bums, and the guys that were already standing around the fire!!!:fawkdancesmiley: :haha: :haha: :haha:

I was looking at that map you sent me the other day, and there is a bum hiding under the schleyer drop:redneck:

Weekend Full of RIDING!!!

So went out with Lodon Gentleman and a couple others to Tolt on saturday for about 5 hours! POOPED!!!:thud: Then on sunday, I took the GF to colonnade to show her the goodness that could only be had under a bridge:redneck: I think it was a little intimidating for her at first (as it was for me), But we took it easy and by the end she had thrown down on a teeter and was riding a few of the trails like a pro.:awesomework: She really likes the big boy side of the park and wants to ride the roller coaster....just needs some more time in the saddle...:corn:

Anyone else put in some time this weekend?:corn:
