I have a 2004 Ford S/D 3/4 ton, crew cab, 4WD. It just rolled over 25,000 miles. I installed a 6 in. lift and 35's. I added a K&N flip kit air cleaner. The best MPG ever is just 18.4 ? What are you getting? What is the best "chip" to put in it ? What other mods do you suggest, and why ? Thanks ! :awesomework:

97 dodge cummins dually 4x4 5 speed with intake/exhaust/ govenor kit and a ground plate 4.10:1 gears and 235-85-16

My best was 14 mpg. I'm hoping for better with the taller tires.

18.5 best since i threw the larger tires/wheels on (before it was 21-22 on the freeway), But it runs like crap and i'm sure that's hurting the mileage.

What did/does yours claim?

I said "freeway", not highway. That's a best case scenario just putting down the freeway watching the little trip deally estimate mileage in real time.

I didn't have no fancy lying computer dealie-o in mine, but calculated by hand, I got 18.5 or so on the way to Oregon one time... stock tires, 3.55 gears, 65mph.

my 12v 5spd dedicated hauler avg's 17. Thats loaded and unloaded so not the best mileage avg.

97 Dodge Ram 2500 CTD, 5 speed, 4WD, 4.10 gears, 315/75R16 (35x12.5) tires. 20mpg hand calculated running empty over Snoqualmie at 75-80mph. 15mpg loaded and pulling the Jeep over the same pass at 65mph.

03' Duramax, best average since Diablosport Predator tuner and 33" tires has been 18.5 over a couple of tanks. That's about half highway half city.

04 duramax. intake, chip, exhaust with 35" toyos i get 16-17 average. hopefully it will go up since my new commute has no traffic

When I had that truck I got 20.6 towing the car trailer once. I got 17 most of the time towing the trailer. I wish my newer one got that milage.

98 Dually 4wd I get 14.5 towing just about anything. I get 16-17 empty while making alot of black smoke for fun.

On another note Overhead milage indicators are way off (usually on the high side). Hand calculate and if you have changed to a larger tire you need to figure out the % of difference and add the miles to your calculations.

Our little lying overhead deally says about 13.5 while towing the 4K lbs Heep on trailer. Still no hand calculations.

Have any of you corrected you speedometer after changing tire size to get a true accurate MPG reading?

or are all the MPG claims incorrect?

My 05 PSD got 13.0 towing to Medford (450 miles) with a 7000 trailer behind it, and 14.0 towing it back. The only diff, I was consistantly 75 MPH going down, but hit three different traffic jams returning.
