Mpg ?

I have seen to many computers give higher than actual number.
So I always calculate it out.
My 98 Dodge QC LB 4X4 auto best on the highway 20.8 in town runs 12.5 to 16. Depends on the type of driving.
My Father's 96 Dodge CC LB 2X4 5 SPD on our trip to Arizona got between 19 and 24. Pulled a military AC (trailer unit) down and pulled an LWB Sami back.

Dodge 3/4 tonner 4x4....01.5 HO cummins...6 speed

3.55 gears, 295/75-16's

never had the dicipline to run a 'best' tank through it (to keeps speeds down to 'best' levels)....
has repeatedly got just over 20 mpg at 80+mph empty back and forth to Vegas...
normal mixed driving usually gives 17-18mpg..
Towing at 17 or 18,000lbs combined usually nets 12mpg.....and a best of 14 once through californina (55mph towing   ) in 5th gear..

:awesomework:

The best I have gotten from the 07.5 Dodge so far is 18.5 mpg hand calculated. Usually it runs 14-15 with a lot of city driving. I'm hopeful that once the engine gets some more miles on it and after I get a programmer and strip off most of this emissions crap I can break into the 20+ range empty, but we will see.

Oh, and my overhead computer is always 1.5 MPG higher then what ever I calculate, I've had it reading 21.6 mpg before so I am hopeful.
