So my rear 60 project begin's. Juts picked up a D60 out of a J20 61" WMS. It is believed to be a 35 spline, I have yet to verify this. But I'm hoping so.

So Detroit or will and ARB hold up to abuse? Only reason I would like to goto ARB is for cutting brakes.

My plans are 4.88 or 5.29 gears or lower. Disc brakes and a locker. 4 Linked, but haven't decied if I'm going to use FOX shocks or just stock TJ coil's. Might be TJ coils for now until I get the dough together for shocks. Also a good diff gaurd.

You still running a front 30 Jon?

For now. :redneck: That'll be gone soon too. So you think your going to be able to keep up Crusty?? :flipoff:

I have a heavy foot and need the axles to support it.

Ok 5.13 or 5.38's still dont know, Probably 5.38's because I would like to goto 37 or 38's.

So where can I find some after market disc brackets??

What are you going to do to match lug patterns?

If I may suggest, it might be smarter to store it and do 60's at both ends at the same timea little later. You don't need a rear axle upgrade nearly as bad as a front, and you're talking about changing gears in the 30 to temporarily match the 60. That's just crazy talk IMO.

No I wouldn't match the gears. The 30 will be gone very soon. My jeep is going to be totally redone the next time it see's a trail. Might be awhile but hopefully not too long. By then end of summer I hope.

Paulie,, I'm not even going to waste my time on a 44. It's 60 or nothing.

I have a U-1000 steering front axle I'll sell you for your front. 6.5:1 final drive. It should match that lil 60 just fine

The thought has gone through my head many times, but I still need to be able to drive this on the street. duece axles would be sweet but to damn heavy and big. Besides its not like I'm going to break this 60 with 38"s. If I do i was really trying. :redneck:

Jon,

Take a sec, and rethink the axle ratio. I like my 4.56 just fine. Any taller (4.88, 5.13, 5.38) and I over-rev the motor just cruisin' down the freeway. Now I've got lower gears in my tcase than you, but you don't have a tow rig OR a trailer yet. So I'd NOT make this a trailer queen yet.

And Dean at Bent Metal Customs, set up all my bracketry for brakes. He gets them water cut somewhere.

do a front 44 swap to match it. guarentee youll like the setup and stability.

X2 i went from narrow trac axles to 63 wms wms 44 up front and 61wms to wms 60 in the back love it! stable as all hell and damn near bulletproof for what i use it for.

I've got a heavy foot and not affraid to hit a rev limiter. So I need the reassurance in my axles.
