I'm sorry, if the yoke with the joint in the pic attaches directly to the t-case, then it may work. Still haven't accounted for drivetrain movement in that case, but lots of people don't and get away with it.

Alright, so it will work. You're gonna need to beef that mount up some, looks like it's nothing more than 3/16" at best. You'll be very surprised how much torque even the weakest of engines can put on a hanger bearing. Especially in low range.

yea that what I was thinking I may run a mount to the frame also.

In the first picture is the yoke on the right splined, or does it have a single key at the bottom and a set screw at the top.

I believe it was Patooyee that came up with the idea of using a 27 spline tcase output shaft and a couple yokes to build a hanger bearing. I can search later tonight but is was a great idea for the $$ and if a 1310 joint will be strong enough.

It was a 32-spline that I used, but probably overkill for a sami. It was 1tonwillysands10's idea though.

they both have a key way I welded one on and put a set screw in the other

Thanks for the props on my idea JJ. I have attached a picture of it.

Ok, as I see and understand from the title of the post that mount is welded to your skid plate. In the picture it appears that way as well unless you welded it to a bench to make it? If not then my thoughts are off the mark. But, If that is the case, I would be very leery of this working long term. The moment that skid plate takes a good hit that shaft is going to see side loading and most likely , the mount , is going to go boom and or the mount will bend. Hopefully your auto trans won't get damaged if that happens. If there is any way you can make your "set up" mount to the chassis instead of the skid plate I think you would be much better off . Also, I am not sure your "set screw and keyway" by itself will last in terms of keeping that second yoke connected to the shaft. I have seen keyways sheer with PTO winches.

I may end up welding the other yoke, the skid plate is 3/8 plate.
im gonna run more bracing to the frame for the bearing to keep it from moving

This is what's on my buggy and works great. The bearing is mounted to a plate welded to the chassis.

holy **** thats some cash, but a nice product.
I. mounted mine with a 3/8 plate bracket welded to my 3/8 skid plate with some bracing on both sides.so far its staying together.
