Your timing could still be off. It might be sending spark on the exhaust cycle. Theoretically, it should only need to send spark on every other rotation but I could be wrong. Maybe try pulling the key, rotate the crank 360° and try it there. :dunno: Doesn't really make sense though because that's pretty much the same idea as just rotating the flywheel 360°. It's easy enough to give it a try though.

Have you verified spark since you replaced the keyway? It could be in the air gap of the crank trigger.

If it won't crank with starting fluid but has a spark, the spark may be too weak and getting snuffed out by the fuel mixture. I had that happen to a push mower. Obvious spark, but replaced the plug and the spark was brighter. Ran like hell after that.

I just got done going back through flywheel carb and valve cover checking every thing. It all looks good. Piston moves up and down and has a spark.
I sanded the surface rust off flywheel what little there was. Rotated crank with a screw driver in spark plug hole to verify it wasn't a broke rod. Both plugs old and new spark. I sprayed starting fluid in the carb a few different times trying to crank it and it won't even try to fire. I'm getting tire of the nonsense by now and I think I'm just gonna roll it to the corner of the shop til I fell like messing with it again.
I haven't done a compression check but there is compression just can't messure it wo a guage.

I decide to tear into it and just see if the valves got tweaked and not closing. Found this

If a new gasket doesn't fix it only thing left to do is just cry lol

That's from firing at the wrong time. When it sparks when the piston is on the upstroke nowhere near tdc and valves are closed, that's what you get. I'd say your gonna be good after this.
