New possible fuel tank rule

They both do. I saw Jeff in a bunch of arguments all week. He seemed to have a very short fuse

The evolution of this sport in the last few years along with the time, energy and amount of funds you guys are putting towards it is to say the least impressive. At this rate there is no telling how this will evolve in just the next 5 years.

Kind of off topic I know.....

I'll bet-cheu we wont be able to afford it in two years.............................. :****: :****: :****:

Brian asked about fuel cells, so here's my answer.

Something is needed. Two vehicles completely catching on fire in two years at that race. That's horrible. The cost of a fuel cell is not going to rape your pocket book. Kim and I have been making stuff to pass rules since early 2004 from my Jeep, to the nasty green buggy, now to this one. It's part of the game...upgrading dumb stuff or upgrading safety stuff. When you first do the safety stuff you cuss the sanctioning body and call your friends and bitch. Then, about a month later, you realize it is safer and makes sense. I'll admit, some stuff is retarded or hard to understand at first. Some rockcrawling rules made me want to scream sometimes. :puke:

Whatever they do, they have plenty of moonbuggies to worry about, so you won't be left standing on the sidelines wondering what to do.

We'll see. :dunno: Just throwing this out completely opposite opinion. Pops and Adam have been around this whole racket for awhile...plenty of us have. Yeah...EROCC days of 60 competitors are gone. We know that. Blah blah blah. Now we have progressed on. Yeah...there is some big money sponsored people out there. Hell...I even heard some weenies saying they wouldn't go to events because sponsors wouldn't pay for them. :gay:

You'll have those people. We have had them for awhile. There is going to be just as many normal-type people who do it for the love who are normal people. Yeah...there was some bling rides out there in Cali and some blangin tow rigs, etc, etc. But look how many normal competitors there were that don't get a dime...or if they do get a dime...it's closer to a dime than it is $100,000 a year. :****:

I'm a chatty cathy and know a lot of people's situations and trust me...there is more than what you think that are living on a prayer doing this. :****: So...unless all the big wigger California desert racers get involved next year, it will be the same sponsored people that have been sponsored for awhile now. They'll always be there...good for them. It's part of the game. I still don't see a Pepsi, Budweiser, or Home Depot 18 wheeler hauling anybody's **** to the race...so we're all not too far from each other until then in my mind.

Yeah...there's Shannon Campbell and Monster. Good for him. For as many races as he does a year, he needs that sponsorship and deserves it. It's not like they provide a pit crew, or towing his junk to events, or really anything besides some drinks and some cash. He got what the small time rockcrawler/rockracer dreams of. Good for him.

Next post Droop just tell us how you feel ;D I agree with you,it gets all blown out before a rule has even been cut in stone.Maybe things will grow with us poor ass bitches in mind.It gives you that little warm ass sissy feeling inside :woot: :woot:when someone like shannon gets what he's earned and you get that I need to take a big **** feeling when someone won't go to an event because sponcers wont pay there way :gay:.I know that most of us out there have to think $$$ first then go race but some don't really care about the fun of racing it's all about the SHOW.I wonder how much money could be made on a freestyle setup, line up some bleachers load them with peps and give each car 30 min to act a fool in front of a crowd?Have a few 10 to 14 year olds judging...............Hmmmmmm :****:

Stay with it Brian, :dblthumb: You pretty much called the dogs in and let'm know the hunts over. :woot: Keep us updated over here on the coating.I think what your trying would be as safe or safer :woody: than the blatter.Anyone who has done any fabracating knows that in a high speed crash there's not much hope for any kind of tank.Sure a blatter would protect from fuel rupture in a hard hit or bad rollover but hittin a rear at 100+ :driving: there will be something puncture or squash the tank. :****:A coating would be a very quick and simple cure for the tanks with no room to play. :dunno:

The old one.......

I cant beleive nobody has posted up and had a good/ bad or otherwise comment. I not trying to ruffle any feathers, just trying to get a cheaper alternative to the expensive bladder thing. I think between fixing mounting problems and the liner idea that we can solve the problem and keep the rule book thin and the lawyer out of the picture. Sounds like Jeff is willing to listen.

Pops, Adam and who ever had weird tanks go to ATLs website and look at page 29 of the fuel cell catalog. I think they have our answer! They call it Balisticoat!!!!

That would be a real easy fix. Seems like if it would help seal from a bullet it would work offroad.I hope they don't go overboard on this one.
