First of all this is not going to be a replica 3 Tons o Fun rig  I had only planned to cut out the rockers and weld in box tubing, but as you can see all the metal cut out in my truck bed is pretty nasty, there was all kinds of dirt and **** in there, so I decided to cut out all of the cancer. My 2X6 tubing should be here any minute. I will be using 1 3/4 DOM for the supports and haven't decided if I am going to plate it or not, The way the frame is, to get them all the same angle I would have to cut out lots of floor. This is it for now, I should have the drivers side welded in by tonight.

Haha, I hope Neal isnt mad. At least I am doing it a little differently. I am going to pickup the 2X6 now. I will report back later.

Neal wasn't original, but he did do a DAMN good job. You're just doing what every guy that wheels a fullsize dreams of and needs to do. Get after it and keep posting pics. I love metal carnage!

You are right. How in the hell could I be mad. Im glad he's doing it. Marty's retarded for thinking that and going home for the summer.

Why??????????Did your boyfriend not wanna move down here? FAG!!!!!!!

Oh yeah I am pissed that he's boatsiding his truck cause it's only going to cost half as much as mine did.

Haha, I will be back to T town sooner or later.  it was nice being able to walk in Cain steel and get a piece, up here it takes a couple days. I got all I could done for now, need to het more DOM which might be tough around here.  I am done for the night....here ya go.  Oh ya, its my moms garage, and she is out of town, so I need to finsh it up before she gets back in two weeks.

are you going to have a 4th support towards to the front?

Not planning on it, dont wanna cut any more floor and there is a body mount there.

I should have some gussets coming in soon, for the tubes on the frame side. Just little 2"X2" for added strength/looks

I know we were not the first to or boatside a chevy, but with both being black, having TSLs, and narrowed makes mine like a mini version.

I'm probaly going to do a grill like yours anyway. :flipoff1:
Lookin good man you are moving right along. thumb.gif
Oh yeah thats right you've only got like 3 ft a side to do. :flipoff1:

its already welded ... but you really shoulda put some plate under the tubes were they attach to the frame. Those frame rails are for **** when it comes down to it. I always plate at stock frame rails... especially the forward tube being so close to that "hole"

summin to consider. I will say being fully welded to the bottom of the cab will keep it from wanting to bend upward ( and thus pull on that stock frame steel) so badly.

You know, I did think about that a few days before I started. Thats how the tube in the back is done. I am still going to add 2 gussets to each tube kinda like this / (TUBE) \

The more weld surface and structure on that stocker frame the better... Chevy frames and most all other frame rails for that matter arent up for the stuff we do to em. laughing1

Got some more toob today. Finished the drivers side supports, waiting on the guessets for them though. Capped one of the ends of the 2X6 and started a little on the sheetmetal for the floor. I decied to tie my seat mounts/art carr into the 2x6, just waiting on the tabs for the seats. That way they are alot lower than before so my head or the passengers head doesnt come close to the cage when I get one. I will also move the seat an inch or two over so it will be easier to lean out. More tomorrow night, hopefully I can get the whole P side supports welded in.
