Hey Nuz............If you have a schematic of the 300 it's really a piece of cake to take apart and reassemble.I had to take my last 300 apart after bending the rear shift fork on like the first run.Got an exploded veiw of the t-case from S-N and just went at it.................really easy if you pay attention.

One of the probs I ran into was propper gapping... When I put the new gear on the input, I had about .006 between the gear and the snap ring when my allowed tolerance was .000 - .003. I don't seem to have any extra shims for it beyond what was there stock. Honestly I'm scared to throw it together and have something cause serious issues just cause I overlooked it... Especially with a crucial part.

It seems like it needs a .002 to .003 shim to get the input bearing shimmed correctly. Looks like im running it back to the press tomorrow, where the heck can i find a shim for it?

what kinda shim?? I got all sorts of pinion shims and side carrier bearing shims from settin up gears....

On the last diagram Marc put up it is the shim pack between #24 and #30. You check the gap at the c-clip at the end of the input, Its at .006 right now. Im thinking a new bearing might fix the issue.

we could use some help getting the 300 built back up..anyone?

if you are able to figure out the shim stuff and everything else is ready to go, i can reassemble the t-case later this week.

Well, got some good stuff done today. Found some more issues that need resolving, but glad to find em early!

Started by yarding out the old decrepid battery tray. Figured it would make for a perfect place to mount the vaporizer.

Popped off my carb and attempted to bolt on the mixer. Discovered that the adapter that was sent is too short for my aplication. I'll be calling Cary at Gotpropane tomorrow to get the correct part expedited here.

img3874mediumwk9.jpg

Meanwhile... Bunk started fabbing up a mounting plate for the vaporizer.

img3878mediumpk5.jpg

This worked out pretty well and allowed us to drill through the firewall without having to take out the heater.

img3880mediumqt6.jpg

Still have final tightening and such to do, but ya get the idea.

img3882mediumol7.jpg

Whatever stupid piece of in the way crap this was got removed with my 2 favorite body working tools...

img3883mediumry1.jpg

Just need some hardwear to mount the brackets for my tanks. I'll prolly be using a plate under the tub so there won't be any chance of the tanks ripping out during a hard roll

img3886mediumhj7.jpg

Tanks take up less room than I thought. I'll be building a hinged rack over them to regain some storage space.

img3890mediumtr7.jpg

And I still have room to perfectly fit my milk and juice cooler... :fawkdancesmiley:

img3891dp9.jpg

Then it was on to my brake booster. I lucked out and got the ****er off without having to take my pedal assembly apart.

img3892mediumyq5.jpg

The old one was nasty and had multiple huge vacuum leaks

img3894mediumqc4.jpg

Much better!!

img3896mediumze2.jpg

Figured I'd try the new '69 vette master cylinder as well. My rear disc conversion won't be done by memorial, so I may just throw the old master back on til later, but we'll see.

img3899mediumun6.jpg

Creative bending to get the back and front switched :D

img3900mediumsv1.jpg

That's all for today. Gotta make some phone calls tomorrow, and then get right back at it as soon as I'm off work. :cheer:

To carry the  cooler?:redneck: :stirpot:

Eff that. I'm building a small brewery on the tongue of the trailer which I intend to stock with brewmaster oompa loompas :D

where'd u guys end up gettin it from??

Bigfoot Trailers up in Arlington. $2300ish out the door with taxes and licensing for a C channel constructed treated wood 16' long 84" between the fenders 7K standard issue trailer. I'm very pleased with it
