There some one off 40 spline 60's. From what he was telling me there pretty sick.

Yeah you can tell he probably has Ouverson shafts him them. Those are Ouverson 8 lug hubs.
I just don't think that a 60 Ring Gear will live up to all the abuse with 49's and a 502. I thought maybe they were 14 bolt or dana 70 center sections.

Dayum! Finally a buggy that I love! Where's my fuggin' measuring tape? loller.gif loller.gif

Me too...
Pulled from Pirate on the axles...

The lastest rebuild, which consist of the Dana 80/Rockwell hybrid axles front and rear (both steering), 502 HO, Coan TH400, and Atlas 4 Speed T-Case

Sorry ButtSechs for the pirate reference....

yup, even says 80/rock hybrids in the description I believe. not too much different from ben's and my design, just uses a dana center. You have to have custom splining done then. upside is that you can cram a 2"er in there with less tahn 1/8" taken off to fit through the carrier. On a 14 the most shaft it will take is 1 5/8". An 80 out of an F550 has almost 40 spline stock. You can open them up a little bit.

Hey, this Scott @ machinewave - #29 on the TTC List

Good to see you guys like the buggy. They are actually D80 Centers and Rock Outers. Ouverson 8 lug Conversion with 2" outers and CTM Built 300M 40 Spline Inners and Modified 4340 U-Joints!

The axles are extremely custom with High Steer Arms and Double Ended Rams mounted behind the front axle and in front of the rear axle.

It has a 502 HO Crate with Accel Digital Fuel Injection, Coan Built TH400 w/ Reverse Manual Valve Body, and an Atlas 4 Speed Case.

Nice touches include dual Howe HiFlow PS Pumps, Hydro Boost Braking System with 16" Rotors/6 Piston Calipers and Dual Cutter Brakes.

Just finishing up the lastest changes/mods and getting ready to Rock Hollister!

Really hope I make the cut, definitely think the buggy has what it takes to win!!

Here's another pic...

And yes, as someone mentioned, I hope to come down south and trail ride with some of you, let me know whats going on!

Vote #29

Thanks...Scott

Thats a sick buggy and you have my vote for sure. I have a question though. Do you only have 4 bolts holding the High Steer Arms on or do you have them braced somewhere else? Just Curious. Do you have any build up pics?
Welcome to the Board.

Welcome aboard Scott! Yes a lot of us dig your buggy and the AXLES!!!

Whats up with the airshocks and airbumps? Is that all the further you run them aired out? That seems like very very little up travel.

I love that rig. as I asked earlier, why didn't you put downtubes from the b pillar to the shock hoop area? this lends so much strength.
another one, why no airshox on the high steer arm? putting them on teh tube pushes your angle in so far on the bottom and makes the off camber handling less favorable.
I am not bagging on it, TRUST ME. It is a work of art and cool as **** looking.
also, thanks for the deals on the axles and joints. I found you guys on pirate and bought my ctm's/alloy usa's from you guys. I then told everyone on here how good of deals you cut loller.gif. Loving my setup and thanks again. thumb.gif

Nice to see you on here Scott, thanks for my axle setup and the deal on the ARB. We have the Shamrock run in March at Morris Mountain, who's who of the fourwheelin world of the South east will be there. It's a great place to test those axles.

Yeah, good points guys. Since the pics, the High Steer Arms have been braced to the knuckle in several spots and the Heims put in double shear.

Thought about Gusseting the B Pillar, just dig the look of the truckish cab/bed area. But, as we all know, it will get rolled and want to add as much strength as possible so it doesn't tweak...It will get a gusset/tube of some sort, just don't know what yet.

As for the Air Shocks, I had to work around the previous configuration. I originally built the buggy for a customer and it had 1 ton axles and 42" tires and the 2.5" x 18" Air Shocks. To get the current arrangement of 49" and these custom axles things were tricky. Like I said, I have changed several things (even since those pics) and will likely make a few more changes before TTC (hoping I make the cut!) Like you said BlackSheep01, it would be nice to place the shocks on the High Steer Arm center point. Have thought about changing the upper mount and doing this if I can keep the shock angles decent and keep the tire from contacting...

Say tuned and vote #29- hahaha

Scott

Glad you joined the boards Scott. You are one of the most kick ass vendors on PBB, you have a large customer base on these boards! That buggy is insanely cool. You got my vote!
