If we wheel in city property and get hurt can we sue? If we did this they may be forced to

I was doing some reading. Teh whole waiver thing COULD work here in washington.
Some sports where there is inherent danger, such as golf, baseball, bungy jumping, snow skiing, etc. are deamed Dangerous sports,therefore the waivers can actually hold up. Trick being to list all things, such as..
in the event of a rollover, vehicle fire, bla bla bla.. and sign the waiver.

with all the media saying how dangerous 4x4ing is, this could easily fall into the catagory of a dangerous sport.

If you get hit in the head with a golf ball on a private golf course, you CANNOT sue over it.. well you could, but you most likly won't win.

It's the same limited liability laws we've been talking about on here forever.

Our sport is viewed the same as many other "dangerous" sports and the same guidelines apply. By the letter of the law the landowner isn't generally liable for much as long as the fees are less than $25 a day. The issue is if the landowner is sued it could be very expensive for the landowner to defend themselves in court....right or wrong.:booo:

Im not a lawyer but thats what a lawyer told me. It was a big to do when I was in an Xterra club, the prez wanted everyone to sign a waiver, lawyer dude sayed it was pointless. And ive seen other examples of this since being as that it was brought up to me once. That WAS 8 years ago so things could have changed.

How do skaters have skate parts? They get hurt all the time on city property. And a privet park you sign a waver. What would be the differance between the to?

Try sue-ing a city or a county....let me know how it went in thirty years when its all said and done.

How do race tracks handle this ****. If you wreck and get hurt at say Evergreen Speedway, my guess is you are on you own. No?

Is it open to all wheeling or is it a comp site? I have seen flyers for it but have not heard any thing as to if it is open to wheeling. Can I go there any weekend or weekday and wheel?:corn:

Only got one PM and it was in favor of the whole idea. The issue that is being delt with at this time is the legal aspect of what can be done where. He has also been looking at other areas a bit further away but would like to keep it close to this area.:awesomework:
