Another happy hypertherm owner here. I have a powermax 45 and love it. Have cut up to 5/8" with no problem. When I was shopping all of the local welding suppliers said spend the extra money on a hypertherm because plasma is their only game. One piece of advice I'd whatever you get buy the sleeve for the lead, mine is less than a year old and the outer sheath on the lead is split in one spot

We have 3 thermal dynamic machines and are in the market for a new machine.What makes the Hypertherm that much better? All our machines are 100 amp and that what we will need. Why is it worth the extra money?
