Who did your bronco gears?
Be very careful with that combo. When you install bronco gears into a D20 case, you must first clearance the case. However the real liability is due to shearing the teeth off of the bronco gear. The broken teeth then get stuck between the remainder of the gear and the side of the case, resulting in a very badly broken T-case.
I'm speaking from experience. The first case was from John's Jeeps (he's since passed away), but he had a shop over my neck of the woods. When that case broke, I scavange another case, rebuilt it myself with gears from Gary Marshal (and I told Gary EXACTLY what I was doing, and he said these are the correct gears), and it too broke.
Both cases broke by doing the exact same thing, and broke in the exact same manner. I got the front end slightly airborn going over a mound with moderate throttle, and when the front landed, the T-case exploded. It was surely due to the front output being unable to sustain the shock-load on the gear, from the front driveshaft. Each bronco gear cleanly shaved off about 8 or 9 teeth from the gear.
Also, you need to buy the set of gears. It's not just a single gear.
After that fiasco, I found a Scout D300 (with the 'texas' pattern) and swapped over. The Scout gears are 2.72, Bronco gears are 2.46, Jeep gears are 2.02.
