Prodigy on sale

it says "tekonsha prodigy" So thats a good one :redneck:

Gotta love used cars :D

So---anything on line to tell me how to use this thing :D

Ive got an owners manual sittin on my backseat that i still havent touched since todd used my truck :D

I looked over it last night and--what does the blue button on the right side do? I assume the adjuster on the left side is for sensitivity and the thing on the bottom is the manaul switch?

You got it. The button on the right is for the "boost" level. When you are braking, it sends a little more power to the brakes depending on your load. There are 3 levels they show up on the controller as b1, b2, b3. And if you hold that button down for 5 seconds, it puts the controller in reverse mode so the brakes don't do wacky **** when you are trying to back up.

Cool--thanks karl. If I have time I will throw it in the rig beforeI head to evans creek for the weekend :awesomework:

The boost is designed to make your trailer brake harder first, really just for big stuff well over what you're towing. You've seen my trailer, I turn the boost off or it wants to lock the brakes up even at low sensitivity.

I use the boost and it really helps if you are tailgating and need to hit the brakes hard, keeps your junk from getting the swerve on.:D

Your junk gets the swerve on??!?! Must be the short wheelbase poseur tow rig. :fawkdancesmiley: :looser:

there are lots of other controllers that are in the 100 range that i dont consider junk, i am just wondering what makes this so special, because the looks of it on the net looks pretty chincy to me

The boost settings are real nice. Especailly when towing your rig with a 1/4 ton ZJ. Or a bigger load with a bigger truck. Doesn't matter. Stopping is important.

The controller itself is retard proof. And it has a fancy reverse mode for when you are backing your trailer up. :awesomework:

Reverse mode??? I guess I'm gonna have to go look at the manual again...

It's an accelerometer based proportional controller, not a progressive. If you brake hard it brakes hard, if you let up after braking hard it lets up. Progressives brake harder and harder until you let off the pedal completely. And it works in both directions, forward and reverse.
