thought it was about that time to post a build thread ... will post more pics later this evening

motor- ly6 6.0
forged mahle pistons
new everything
all arp hardware
700r tranz

axle-
dana 60 bj front
14 bolt rear
arb locker

suspension will be double triangulated rear and i haven't decided yet on what to do with the front ....most of the reason i wanted to start a build tread to get a second opinion on this crap

i have completely ripped out all stock jk wiring and making my own harness for the motor and the jeep body using all the jk heater motor switches ignition and headlight knob using a tj fuse box and relay box

this is my first build of this caliber and i want it to be top notch and done correctly... been down for the past year almost i finally got some work out of the way and free time to go ham on some fabrication and get this beast rolling... :driving:

What's your reasoning behind using a jk? Was it wrecked or just out of convenience? Not questioning, as I think it looks awesome, just curious.... thumb.gif
 
first it started out as a spring an shock lift on stock axles and stock control arms ..on 37 in krawlers...it was my daily driver and i took it to aetna everyweekend and beat on it for 6 months till the axles took a complete **** after replacing the stub shafts in the front 7 times
i swaped in a 14 bolt and 60 with custom 3 link and 41in iroks ...drove it as a daily for 4 to 5 months and really didnt like the way it drove being powerless
and my dads 08 chevy blew up about the same time so i figured why the hell not got the stock motor sold and paid to rebuild the ls motor and still have money left over then that turned into wanting to put coilovers on the rear and re doing all the suspension... my idea here is to have a bad ass street legal buggy that i could take top and doors off and climb things that only buggys climb lol and then drive it home and to work the next day ...as for why i used a jk......how many do you see on 44s ls swaped....and im also a lil bit crazy haha i figured im paying on it each month why the **** not use the sob for what i want to do and maybe make a lil money off it in the end...
 
full bump and full drop and placement of my fuesbox and relays and engine computer will all be behind and access panel where the glove box use to be
no wires will be seen under the engine bay firewall will get heat wraped and frame will be completely ground down and cleaned up to get powdercoated when r&d is done

front armor iv been working on formaing by hand ...jks are not the straightest
body lines lol

Are you gonna exo-cage the body, or just run a full interior cage? Looks like its gonna be badass btw. Definitely not a mall crawler. :dblthumb:
 
shut up marc lol when you say rebuild yours you mean throw some duck tape over it lol its called money it dont just appear :flipoff1:

No exo cage just sliders and fender flares and a full interior cage ...but the skins and cage will be done last
 
Hey Chas if duct tape is good enough for Nascar it's plenty good for my heep. Just so you know I was referring to broken shafts, ring gear, locker and hubs among other things. You know it'll never be done. Oh and FSU does stand for **** **** up, them Cleveland boys stole it from a gang up north.
 
change in plans air to water intercooler ....80lb injectors are ordered :eat:......and turbo is almost mocked up on the engine using stock c5 manifolds
had this turbo stuff on one of my hondas desided it would be better used in this aplication hahaha i also had a aeromotive a1000 pump and regulator and all -10 hoses on it also that i will be custom building a fuel cell with a surge tank with the pump mounted inside cause dis bitch be loud :****:

looking for at least 700 hp ...my axles are going to need a timmi cameron upgrade,,,,,,,,, wish rcvs wasn't so dam expensive

You have a heavy rig you may want to get something a little heavier. If you sold it you could get a 4l80e with overdrive for a couple hundred bucks or a 6l80e which has 2 overdrives....
 
its just in there for now till i can build a 6 speed auto....just to get the build going and driving and get the kinks worked out till i can get the money saved up i just need it back driving on the road ...it is my daily and im tired of driving the 94 chevy w/t wit a pipe wrack :driving: still be picking up the bishes tho
