Told Kelly I'd show him something cool.

These arent for public disemination, but will be made public shortly.
Please dont link them elsewhere.

I'm so amped up that a reputable company stepped up with a 14bolt dropout and Ballistic can go to hell.

and what really needs mentioning is this co. is to have production units ready to ship in January (like next week) and wont be doing their press release until they are ready to ship when they make sales. Unlike PortalTek or Ballistic. loller.gif

You wouldnt worry about not getting your product if you ordered from the company making them. Big name!!!

No idea on cost, the ones in the pics are prototypes for fitting only and the production units are supposed to be in for installation next week. That said they are sponsored units....so.....even he doesnt know cost. As for the housings, I didnt even think to ask about them. I thought Ruffstuff as well, but truely dont know.

Slawson put a new Tundra 3rd in his new chassis. It is a drop out from the factory and Diamond made him the housing. ARB is making a locker. Seems like the way to go. It is a monster in size. Similar, if not bigger than a 14B.

He and I talked about this pretty in depth at KOH last year. He already had the axle at that time. 9.5" ring gear.
At the time he was worried about gear selection and locker as they are 3.90's but maybe the aftermarket has caught up, especially if ARB is on the ball.

But still 9.5" ring gear drop out that you can buy at the junk yard!!!!!

I saw this **** somewhere bout a year ago , and HELL YEA what a ****in GOOD ASS idea......DOUHHHH............

The 14 bolt is the SAME design as a 9" ANYWAY , pinion support bearing & all, ......

so why not give that BIG ASS ring gear DROP OUT capabillty ;D

Well I'll guarantee it happens before Feb 11 as the car being built with them leaves the line that day.

Why is it that none of these special axles ever show up on the market on time.

I think thats why these guys have been super hush so they dont over promise and under deliver. Making sure they can produce and make hold up, and have everything in place to accept orders and ship when they show them off.

Pending price, I bet you'll see a metric ****-ton of these hit the comp buggies over the next year.

Considering a good 9" third is $1200 plus, they couldn't be much more. Are any of the buggy guys running the big 10.5 ring 9's. Or even the 12"ers. They seem prettty tuff, but are way out of my price range.

the richmond 10" usage is going up, but still not commonplace per se.
Mike Coleville is running some monster 45 spline 9" based stuff on pirate from a top fuel or funny.
If I were to bet they will be 2k for a builder kit with housing and you using your existing 14 stuff. Total guess. Even at that its a pretty good deal if the product holds up.

Nazir is running 10" (I'm pretty sure its Strange)
Colville is running the 4' Bore Strange Ultra Case w/ the 10" ring gear. And he's got the Top Fuel spool so he can run the 45 spline axles.
I'm running the exact same setup as Colville except in 40 spline in the rear of my salt car and my axles are gun drilled
Retail from Strange on the chunk is $1,870 w/ the female coupler. I paid $1,650 according to my invoice from my chassis builder who sourced it for me.
