Re: Random Thoughts

Summary:

House was on market for 6 months with just a few lookers. 2 months went by with nothing and then someone looks, makes decent offer and we accept. Everything is in order and good to go. We find a new house, sign contract and we have closing on both Nov. 30th. On Nov. 29th, our realtor calls and says we have a problem. Turns out that our buyer has a mobile home and land that he must first sell to satisfy his lender. This property was supposed to close on Nov. 18th but there was an issue with the land deed. His realtor never made any kind of mention of any property to sell, let alone an issue with it. The 1st we heard about it was at 4pm on Nov. 29th.......24 hours before we were supposed to close on both, our sale and our purchase. So now we are almost a week past our initial closing date with our house all packed up and have no idea when we'll close. To say I'm pissed off is an understatement...........

I've called, emailed, texted realtors, brokers, anyone involved in this trying to do what I can to expedite things but there isn't really anything I can do. I just gave them a drop dead date to have this corrected.

I'd say it depends on your buyer. Gf sold her house and the first people she was in contract with sucked and when that fell through the next couple were a breeze. Both times the house was on the market less than 24 hours. I've had a handful of friends buy or sell houses in the past year and the longest I've heard one stay on the market up here was 4 days and they got $5k over asking. The market is crazy up here.

We had an offer that was contingent on 6 or 7 different sales to be final. Buyer of our home>buyer of their home>buyer of that home> etc. etc. Our realtor laughed at them and told us to deny the offer. So we did. When we finally sold the buyer's realtor sucked and we found out as we were sitting in the office that she did not show for her closing. My realtor called the buyer and said we were keeping her earnest money and it would take $3000 worth of lawyer fees to get it back (it was only $1500) if she did not buy our house. We closed and had 2 houses for 3 weeks. To say I was nervous was an understatement. House sold we got a check and have been happy ever since. I have to say my realtor was pushy but she was worth every penny!

Yeah, I understand the contingencies. We had one on the house we're trying to buy. The problem is that noone said anything about our buyer having one. Nothing in the contract, no word of mouth, no mention at all of another property until 24 hours before closing. His realtor had been sitting on that fact and the fact that there was a problem with the sale of his property that was supposed to close on Nov. 18th. I'm not sure what she did between then and Nov. 29th. Guess she was hoping it would magically go away.

Re: Random Thoughts

Damn that sucks Josh, my Dad went through some crap selling his commercial property last month, and my grandmother's house was hell to get rid of for mom and dad. One crazy nut woman who couldn't get her **** together actually had her mail forwarded to the house before closing fell through! I'd love to gtfo of mine but I honestly don't want to put up with all the **** to sell it. Actually had an investment company I was going to sell to but they wouldn't come up 8500 without me spending that much on the house so I kicked that to the curb.

Ugh, I despise working nights. I've onlu slept 12 of the last 75 hrs.
I don't work nights, but 2nd shift. Used to work 4:30pm to 3am, but on 2pm-10:30pm now. Much better but still no day shift. One day......mayyybbeee one day...

Nov 30th was 11 years at my current job and still can't get a dayshift spot lol. 2nd is pretty much all I've ever been used to in the nearly 15 years I've been working, so I've never had the luxury of getting spoiled on dayshift. Guess that makes it easier.

When I finish school, if no dayshift office job formulates, I may begin looking at other jobs. But that may mean taking on a 1 hour or longer commute one way, as I work for one of the best companies local to my house, so I would like to stay there if possible.

Re: Random Thoughts

That would almost be doable. If I can get home before it gets light out then I can sleep. At least I'm on the big clock.

Been married 11 years, have had dogs that whole time and kids for the last 7 and never been "interrupted". Can't say that anymore. :woody:

The question is was it a kid or dog?

Wait, aren't you single? Interrupted doing what?

My on and off girlfriend and I break up every week or two it seems... When we are "getting along" interruptions seem to happen often from the 4 children we have from previous relationships

Dog. We can hear the kids coming through the house. Dog got out of her cage and bolted straight for our bed and crashed the party. :spin:
My coon dog walked in on me one time and commenced to wailing like he had a coon up a tree. Cracked me up as I tried to keep up the work.
