You can't say **** about the panther party strippers, they are a protected race. Better bitch about a grown man drinking an adult beverage.

I nominate David Allen Coe, Alan Jackson, Alice Cooper and ZZ Top for the Super Bowl 51 halftime show.......we'll throw in The Lacs and Demun Jones to appease the all the ones who like a little Redneck hip hop.

Re: Random Thoughts

Is there a good reason I'm losing 36% of my paycheck to income tax? Just doesn't seem right. :dunno: :'(

I don't really know anything about tax codes and such but damn, this is kinda bs. Especially when I pretty much break even come refund time.

Because we've allowed the federal government more and more power over the years. So we pay them to tell us what to do and how to do it! (Plus we got roads and schools and **** I hear)

Sucks but ~40+% tax rate is the norm for the industrialized world where a middle class exists. It's higher in a lot of dictatorships.

But that's not a "fair share", there's still lazy mofo's who need free food, housing, education, medical care and their nails did on your tax dollars...
You should pay at least 20% more according to Bern....

Yeah I though about that after my post. If Bernie has his way we'll all pay over 50% and if you make over 10 mil a year then you'll pay over 70%.

That'll really motivate people to work. :gtfo:

Margaret Thatcher once said that "The trouble with Socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money." :****:

I've been watching some older videos of her in parliament - that was one feisty old bird!!!

Re: Random Thoughts

I never really paid much attention to taxes before. Other years it didn't seem too bad, takehome still looked good enough and we'd get a few grand back. My wifes sister graduated from some sort of accounting school and told my wife how to setup our witholding for 2015.

I could be wrong but by my math I paid 26% into taxes last year and zeroed out. I'm paying 36% this year so by my figuring, I should get a 10% return next year. But that's probably not how it works and I should just figure on losing my hard earned doll hairs for no good reason.

Yeah, depends on your bracket and did you move brackets due to OT or other, did your wife change jobs and is making more $, did you get a decent pay raise, did your state and local taxes increase?? Blah blah blah... It's never simple...
I try to "owe" the gub-ment $500-$1000 every year so they don't get an interest free loan from me...

Oh, and I'm not an accountant...don't play one on TV and didn't stay at a holiday inn express last night, so my comments are worth what I charge $0.00 :woot:

Re: Random Thoughts

Well considering interest rates on savings accounts are pretty terrible, I don't think you're missing out on much interest by loaning it to the gubment. I've been doing a little research the past few minutes and it looks like zeroing out is the goal. Though not getting that nice return is kinda a downer.

Absolutely, zeroing is the goal. Hard to do with my wife being self employed as "contract" labor (personal trainer/yoga instructor) so her income fluctuates year to year, so I choose to owe them a little. I'm just a schmuck like that. LOL.

Re: Random Thoughts

People still don't care what the govt does with their money because they never see it. It comes out before you ever see it. Part of life, right? **** can you imagine how involved everyone would be with how the elected spend OUR money if you got all your check and had to stroke out that check every month or year to the govt directly. Your giveafuck would increase exponentially. No more tv series binging, you'd be seeing where the $ goes. Fire the ones that aren't doing it right. As it is, we just float along being happy and "secure"
