Re: Random Thoughts

We rotate days/nights each time we go in. 7am/pm-7:30am/pm

Ex. Monday-Tuesday day shift; off Wednesday-Thursday; Friday, Saturday, Sunday nights; off Monday-Tuesday; Wednesday-Thursday days; off Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Its a constant rotation. Work 2 weekends a month and off 2. Now that schedule will throw you body off!

This is the same shift we work it's called a 3 2 shift we work it running 12 hour shifts 6-6.
We have two day shift and two night shifts no swinging.
Did to much of that when the plant started worked one week on days one week on second and then one week on nights and that sucked.

Water heater line blew apart. Flooded garage. Pain in the ass, but the floor is super clean now.

Win?

Did it hurt anything else?

If no. Then yes it is a win !

I would have drawn a sharpie no-go zone on the cup, took the lid off and wore it out anyway.

My wife used to work a split like that. Work mon, tues, off wed, thur, work fri, sat, sun, and reverse that for the next week. Having RJ when he was a baby while she was on that shift was an every other weekend ruiner. He was too little to take wheelin, or almost any garage activity for that matter. I told her to apply for that school nurse job or go work at a Dr's office or something, and she works as a school nurse now, only 200 days a year, but now I work almost every Saturday 7am-noon. It's an extra $140 on the ol' paycheck. :woot:

Slab house, so the carpet got a bit wet by the back door 2' or so. If I can get that dry then I'm good.

Also, just stopped by lowes and bought 2 new hoses and a heavy duty entrance rug..... All Made in USA.

Re: Random Thoughts

That coffee cup bombing run was some nasty ****, pun intended I reckon. Peel off the lid and let her rip.

I left my washer running one time when I went to eat with some friends, stayed gone longer than I had planned - 3 hours, came home, and washer been running water ever since. Linoleum in the washroom, carpet out in the hall. Luckily, most the water was funneling down the central unit vent. I cut the washer off, squeegee'd the rest of it down the vent, and it looked like it only soaked the carpet about 3' outward. I damped it up with several bath towels, then turned a small fan on blowing on it. It dried pretty fast, never had any problems water damage related. I guess the central vent duct had a hole in it or something somewhere, not sure how or where all that water drained out at under the house.

Moral of the story, don't run washer or dryer unless you are home....

Make sure your rig is in gear before you crank it! Been working on it and had it out of gear, forgot! Reached in and started it, and before I could cut it off, it ran into the new rig I'm building, knocking it off the jack stands and almost turning it over before I got it stopped! There went about 2 hours worth of leveling.

I've been considering a neutral safety switch for this reason.
