Re: Random Thoughts

How many k's? B/C 1000s = 16.6666 min. CB a lot of min's.

That took four times as long to type as what I am typing now. Not due to the numbers, just due to trying to figure out how to dumb down my brain :flipoff1:

Probably wasn't too hard to find one of those laying around your house to snap a picture of.

Check engine light comes on in ole lady's FX35, she goes to Advance so they can scan it, texts me the code while I'm at work, I Google the code and tell her I bet the ground wire is loose or dirty at the battery post, she goes home, cleans and tightens battery cables, check engine light goes off, problem solved. I think she's a keeper. molaugh

Hellz yeah, I work with grown men that couldn't do that! I'm amazed at what they pay people to do for them.

We got in it to go out to eat Saturday evening and it came on soon as she crunk it up, but no symptoms of anything wrong, everything ran and drove fine. She was worried it was something major, but I told her if it was something major, she'd know it already lol. Maybe the CE light will stay off...

Re: Random Thoughts

I'm currently working on a patented urinal that is splash proof. Incorporates a small nasa engineered vacuum that pulls in any and all urine splatter and vapor

I'll be on shark tank next month. Y'all be sure to watch

U1000 is a Controller Area Network CAN code, it means there is a problem with a control module not talking to the ECM, ABS, or other module. Or a module is basically jamming the signal (message) being sent on the network.
C1132 is actually an ABS code that will turn on the check engine light, basically saying it is not receiving a certain signal from the ECM

Several things will cause these codes in that car, coins on the shelf under the navigation unit will fall down on the unified meter and short it out, Intelligent Power Distribution Module acting the fool, the other thing that will cause the C code is if the car stalls due to a bad crank sensor or has a cam sensor (all 3 of these fail constantly on this engine) that doesn't send a signal intermittently, maybe, possibly, kinda doubt it, but may cause the U1000 as well because the ABS has to see the engine speed, so if a crank/cam sensor stops working, the ABS module thinks it has a CAN issue because it isn't seeing that signal.

I don't miss having to chase and diag these codes daily anymore.

Hmm, we'll wait and see if the light comes back on. I guess it could have went off from her disconnecting the battery cables. I read where that U1000 was likely caused by bad ground either at the battery or in a wiring harness plug somewhere, so I just figured her ground cable was loose. :dunno:

Re: Random Thoughts

It can be, but it will have a bunch of other codes with it and it's usually the ground behind the glove box. Is the dash peeling or bubbling up yet?

Nope, hers is one of the lucky ones that isn't doing it. It's an 05, friend of ours had an 04 and it bubbled bad.
