What did that Bruiser chassis run you the way you got it set up? :dunno: Looks good. thumb.gif

Its a custom homemade chassis out of brake line and sheet metal. Far as what I got in it.....Too much. I know I spent over 100 bucks on the mini torch, metal, brake line, and solder. Then the esc ran about 75, motor was around 30, servo off ebay few years ago 20 bucks and the dx3 tx/rx was 100. battery was around 30 bucks 6-cell nimh 3300mah. And the ax10 scropion kit was 219 so 500-600 in my setup. Ive messed with R/C cars/trucks for the last 16 years so I had the basic equipment to get goin so i only had about 300 in it till I decided to do a build and update to a 3 channel radio.

Far as what crawler is better, I have only been around mine and stock out of the box it was mind blowing to see what it could do. Then I went and added all the extra weight and limited the flex so its no where near what it was but just looks more realistic.

Thanks for the information as I have NO idea what a custom one would run. I just like it because it looks like my fullsize buggy. That sounds very reasonable for all the work that you put into these things. I had a friend running RC planes and was amazed at the speeds they would reach. I gotta get me one of these things, let me know if yours goes up on the block $ thumb.gif

So I bought a fairly modified AX10 today. Love it, but the battery life is killin me! What's the longest lasting battery out there? I don't care if I give up a little performance, just want to crawl for more than 10-15 minutes.

I use Lipo 3S. I get about 1 hour 15 minutes out of a battery. I have two, but I never have wanted to run it that long. The Lipo takes a balancing charger, different from the regular one.

when you get ready for a real RC car pm me and I'll give you the Gatekeepers number.Check him out on youtube, just search GATEKEEPER or Austin Dunn.Last I heard he can put one together for around 1500.00.

somethings got to be wrong with something lol we crawled for over an hour before we had to swap batteries.. and we have cheap batteries for the most part!

i run a 3300mah 6 cell stick pack made by dynamite....think its just some cheapo but I get every bit of 45 mins out of it. Heck today i did a lil crawlin and then pulled a toddler around with it by tying a rope to his toy 4 wheeler. :****:
got a 1500mah pack that aint worth 2 shats in a bucket. think 15 mins tops

I run a 5100 mah with a little over a hour run time works fine

I guess they are about scaled to the real deal, including price! We all started out with factory Axials, then as always the rivalry $hit talking began and here is where mine sits now.
Everything on the original has been swapped. Only thing left factory axial is the subframe, everything else has been changed. When we first started out, we would break something and then upgrade it, break something and upgrade it. Whenever you strengthen something, the next weakest link goes weaker. I finally have gotten it to where nothing breaks! About the only thing that sometimes happen and only because of the brushless motor is that I'll spin a driveshaft on a pinion. Nothing major, but with the added weight and aluminum axles this thing sounds like the real deal when its beating off rocks. If nothing else the sound it makes were worth the aluminum upgrades!

Novak Brushless Kit
HR Aluminum Axle Housings
HR Aluminum 1" Spacers
HR Aluminum High Steer Knuckles
HR Aluminum Trans Case
HR Aluminum Drive Shafts
HR Chromoly Axle Shafts (Over 3 times factory axle shaft diameter!)
Upgraded Axial Aluminum Adjustable Coilovers
JRRacing High Torque Steering Servo
2.4 Ghz Radio
Comp tires with cut foam and drilled wheels
