So michelle is trying to get in shape for the wedding. good. she was working out on friday and hurt her neck a little bit. no big deal. saturday she almost couldn't get out of bed, but did. she's a trooper. by sat night (Kenny Wayne Shepard concert on square for $8) she is in big pain, but goes with me anyway. Doesn't sleep a wink Sat night. 4 AM I wake up and she is crying and can't spit out what's up, but we're going to the ER. I got her some hydrocodone and it didn't touch it. We get there and her left arm is going numb by this time. They give her an antiinflamatory, some valium and some oxycodone. I can't drive her, so she drives home with valium in her system at 5 AM and somehow doesn't get stopped. she's fuggin looped the last 3 blocks. I was sweating bullets. she gets about 2 hours of sleep before she wakes up again in major pain. I wait on her hand and foot all day while she medicates. It still doesn't knock the pain down. We had an MRI on sunday, and hoped to get it read MON.
Yesterday comes, and I'm stuck at work for 12+ hours. I get a call mid afternoon that her dad is taking her to the city to a doctor. its too bad to stand and her whole left arm is numb, aching and she can't move it. Last night when I got off we headed up. the neurologist was cool enough to stick around to look at the MRI images at 8 PM when I got there with them. She has a ruptured disc between 4 and 5, 4 and 5 are fused and it is putting a bunch of pressure on 6, which is where her nerves for the left arm are. its also what has been causing tremendous pain (pinched nerves). A surgery is set up for thursday, but remember that she can't leave the hospital, I can't drive and she has a 7 YO daughter to get to and from school, babysit and whatnot. I leave for work at 5:15 in the morning and get off at 5:30 or so. I still haven't gotten a ride to her house yet. Luckily we both have (mostly me) good families. My mom takes care of her daughter a lot and my sister. Her family can kind of be selfish.
anyhoo, the surgery is to break 4 and 5 apart, take out the ruptured disc, use cadaver bone bits to put back, put in an artificial disc, screws, plate and a neck collar for 6 weeks. So much for fitting into her wedding dress. the collar will come off (best case) a few days before the wedding. This is a shitty deal. I can't drive and she can't really either now. How does a wedding get planned that way. Not to mention I haven't had sex in 5 days and it looks like another couple weeks before I will get to look at it. I guess that's one way of abstinence before marriage :spin: Maybe I'll fall off the wagon all the way again.
Also I got in a fight friday night, the guy went to the cop shop with loose teeth and a messed up face and mike and I went back to the bar. shouldn't have hit the owner, huh :D I just hope my PO doesn't find out. I did get my info taken by the cops. :-\
so hows things going for you :flipoff1:

Spill it for us newbs....

Why the PO
Why no Licence (assuming one in the same)

Why the PO Parol Officer- Guy who kelly has to visit regularly due to getting a 2nd DUI in 11 years in Kansas

Why no Licence (assuming one in the same) You assume correct
Why at the bar- Best friend owns one of the only bars in Paola, we all hangout there cause thats our people and thats what we do

Why?

Hope that helped.

Kelly, call me if you get a chance. I just told tiffany and she is blown away. So sorry. wish we were there and could help out. I'd haul you around a little bit. And we'd go to Bonita's so you could look at "it".

Damn bro, Im sorry to hear that man, let her know all your interweb / outta town bros are pullin for her.

( Ill drive ya around this weekend a lil.. :flipoff1: )

I KNEW she was not real! EVERYTIME I am in P-town she is never "available" Lieing sack of tater **** Kelly! :flipoff1: Good story though

Hope the surgery goes well, seriously.

Just got off the phone with Kelly.
1pm tomorrow afternoon is Michelles surgury. High success rate and a fairly common surgical procedure. So fingers crossed and prayers answered it all goes well.

Apparently she probably injured herself a few weeks before doing CPR/Rescue training at the YMCA pool where she works. But being her she shrugged it off and didn't file an injury report.

Say a prayer for our boy and his girl.

My dad had the exact same problem, except it effected his leg and made it go numb. He had to stay at the hospital one night, but if she does good it could be outpatient surgery. Thoughts and prayers man.

thanks guys. She is doing okay since she is on morphine, although it does have her constipated :spin:
I didn't really need to hear about it, but I did. I guess the honeymoon is over before it starts :D
she is optimistic as everyone she has talked to has said the surgeon is the best in KC. (this isn't just hospital people saying this, others that know him :D) The worst part is putting people out to haul us around. Kalli is kind of bummed with out her mom (hospital is 25 minutes away and I can't drive her there). I got my project done for the week at work after going in at 5 and getting off many hours later and got off at noon to see her today. I get off tomorrow too for her surgery. Go back friday. she comes home but I can't drive her, so, guess I'll see her after work.
Looking forward to you 2 being here this weekend, (paul/chris) but I might kind of be in and out due to keeping her company.
I will tell her that your thoughts are with her and keep crossing your fingers she recovers quick

Nolen, I got a DUI when I was four wheeling at age 19, then many years of being good and walking home from the bar and not drinking and driving later, KS repealed the 5 years record roll off law. They are lifetime now. I got another one at 26.5 yrs of age coming home from a dinner party on a sunday night and thought I was sober. .09. Because they are lifetime tally now it counted as my second. no driving for a year then ignition interlock for a year. life's a bitch some times.

Talked to kelly a lil bit ago. Surgery went well. Michelle is still alive so thats good and all. She still doesn't have full feeling back in her left arm. but that may be a function of the nerve being crushed for 5+ days.
She's supposed to be going home today.
