REI vs Offroad

I was always saying they needed a drive through. Did it get fixed?

Oh yeah.....this was prolly 12-13 years ago or so.....Scott Appert.....he was a bad boy:redneck:

sad part is...i laugh about it just about every time I drive by

Too bad the dutch cup's now closed

It's been now for some time...I thought for a while the back part was open as a bar still...?

The "New Owners" that bought it ripped out the bar, and turned it into a cheesy, dollar liquidation type store WITH CRAP goods for sale, and sale is a questionable term. The food quality went to **** immediately, and the qualified help bailed and as such, they've run off all loyal customers, and are now what bankrupt since they couldn't keep the place going... good thing they spent three million or so to buy/renovate/RUIN the dutch cup, what Idiots.

I hope for what its worth that SOMEONE with community pride gets that place and restores it to what it was. The ruining of the Dutch Cup was a travesty. What's worse there isn't a great deal many places to eat in Sultan to begin with, and those morons ruined a good thing. Best place to stop and eat after a day at reiter.

Very true about REI being the local store and thats why I was a member for 20 odd years. It wasnt until I got involved with the politics of the woods until I realized what was going on. I tried to enlighten them and they wouldnt listen so I boycott them at every opportunity. The horseman are finding out the the hikers arnt their friends as they used to think they were. After all horses dont like engines or even wheels and now the horseman are finding themselves getting closed out of the woods and are finding themselves on our side of the table more and more. Certified weed frree feed is the newest battle for them. I wonder who thought that one up:eeek:
Ain't that the truth. My pops is a big part of back country horsemen and they are facing the same battle that ORV's are right now. One of the differences I see between his group and several wheeling groups is that they are way better organized/motivated. Just in SW WA they have work parties at least twice a month to improve trails through out the spring, summer and fall

Most of the horse people I know are from back east, but that seems to be the case, they are well organized and pretty well funded for their cause.....

Wheelin' isn't the "Devils' Work", why is it so hard for this user group to represent itself "well" to the "public"? Maybe that's a rhetorical question, maybe I don't really want to open up that can of oily, greasy, pissy worms..... nevermind.........:cheer:

too late it's open!!! :haha: IT's because we're too busy, separate ourselves from each other within our own group, the buggies from the DD/WW from the mud bogger, from the toyota, from the jeep, from the punk kids, from the rich folk......We can't get along because we're too high and mighty on our holier than thou attitude, my cawk is bigger than your cawk attitude, that seems to go with wheeling. I can wave to all the buggy guys in the world and only a FEW will wave back, same with other wheelers, toyota, jeeps chevy, the like, because they're too cool to wave at a fellow wheeler... and yes this is the norm. There are admitedly the bunch that do wave and stop and chat....

I would give my input--but won't on this matter...

Ummm... hrrrmmmmm......I will just say, that I have observed, as a general statement, that "wheelers" are an independent collection of people. They just are by nature, it seems. And many seem to just want to do their thing, and be left alone about it. And they, in turn, would leave everyone else alone, if circumstances allowed. Other user groups come in and harsh their mellow....which is sorta true, sorta not. Because nobody lives in isolation, no matter how hard you try......I am not in the mood to make a big argument about it.... Just an observation perhaps better left to myself.....:haha: :haha: :haha:

For all the time I have spent conversing with people on the internet, not just this forum, but the world wide web, and even in emails, you'd think I would have learned better than to express my opinion in public. It's just asking for trouble, headaches, and nightmares.....  and arguments arguments arguments..... :thud:

:bananadance: :bananadance: :silly15: :silly7: :nana1: :nana1:

right? can't take your own position too seriously.... or anyone else's position either, for that matter!!

:haha: :haha: :haha:

I agree with what you're saying, I just want to be left alone, but ya, you can't we try and get out and AWAY from people, but somehow people find us....:eeek:

One thingI don't have a problem--- posting my opinion on these matters--and I can take the heat as I have many a times...

Its just to do so when time and agai9n it usually falls on deff ears--=so I will just keep my feelings on this to muself today and let my sig say it for me....

And to add---its sad when folks try there best to help the sport--because we need them or things would be WAY worse--and yet they have targets on there backs by the very users who reap the benefits on there work...

It's not just about "taking the heat". It's frustrating, and fruitless, to "discuss" things when people get their knickers in a twist about every little nuance and detail.... is it worth "arguing" and name calling at the mention of the word "gas" in a "diesel" thread??? :silly15:

You described the Internet very well! :D

I thought they were allowed in national forests just not in national parks:eeek: and thats because to many stupid people that let their dogs run loose or bark at anything that moves.(disturbing wildlife) its back to the 1% crowd controling what happens:booo:

allright what i don't understand is that dogs aren't allowed in national parks because they bark and wildlife:eeek: weren't dogs wild life at one point why the hell would it matter if they bark at wildlife if dogs don't bark at them a cougar will kill them so why do they let cougars and bears in national parks i don't understand
