reiter TRAILS (I am a clownpuncher) GPS cords???

Thanks for the link. I am able to view it from work. I read over the threads in your map section. I dont know all you guys so maybe this ain't true, but it seems like oranization is a huge problem. too many people with too many different GPS units running all over the place. Hip, i say if you can find a GPS unit with good download abilities you use that one and that one alone. that way you dont have people taking data points in the wrong datum and so on.
What happened to Sasquatch or woodsrider? They seemed to be on the right track. Can you get me some of what they already collected? Is it worth while, or would it be easier to just start over?
If you would like, I could work with you on this project. If you and I go out and start GPSing I bet we could have the entire area mapped out and named by the end of the summer. And with the help of some web savvy folks (I am not), maybe even get a interactive web map on your site.
In one of the threads you made the point that tree cover is an issue. Actually this is a bigger deal that you might think. It can throw off the accuracy quite a bit. In cases like this we will have to make multiple passes over the same trail to gets tons of data. Once i can get all the info into my desktop i know some tricks to average out these multiple lines into one line. Anyways, i'm getting off topic now. What kind of GPS unit you got or can get access to? Do you think it will work??

Zig, your help would be greatly appreciated. Sasquatch is Jason that Hip referred to above. He has the skills and equipment, but abandonded us after we got started because he got busy. We can't even get him to return a phone call or e-mail anymore, so we decided to start over. Unfortunately for Hip, he is learning as he goes and has asked for some help, so your offer is greatly appreciated.

I dont have the skills. So I wont promise you anything. My GPS has mapping but I have no Idea how to download it. Plus I dont think it can. It's a Garmin GPSIII. I'm just trying to make a new WA trail database.

Ive got a few programs I use with my Rino 130. I have the ability to transfer data to and from gps unit to computer to make maps I use when hunting. If you want to send me some coordinates via Pm I can play around with them and see what I come up with.

I dont have any thats the thing. My battery died a few months back so it wouldn't save info for more than a day or two.
